JOE R. FELKNER 1933-2004

Former Ridgecrest resident Joe. R. Felkner passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 in Little Rock, Ark. He was 70.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, at 2 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Okla. under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith, Ark.
Mr. Felkner was born Sept. 29, 1933 in Coweta, Okla. He was a longtime resident of Ridgecrest and a member of First Baptist Church. He owned and operated The Sub Stop in Bakersfield as well as working as a welder, an Arcadia Lake Park Ranger in Edmund, Okla, a deputy sheriff in Oklahoma City, Okla., and as general manager of Brown Jordan Furniture Manufacturing.
He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Christian Business Fellowship.

Mr. Felkner is survived by his wife Ruth of Ft. Smith, Ark., three daughters Kathy Cade of Ridgecrest, Joye Messerli of Lewisville, Texas, Sandra Felknew of Van Buren, Ark., two sons Scott Salley of Flagstaff, Ariz., George Salley of Tahlequah, Okla., 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
