PEARL LUCY KELLY 1913-2005

Pearl Lucy Kelly liveed a full life, but her body "just wore out" on Sunday evening, Nov. 20, 2005 at the Ridgecrest Regional Hosptial in Ridgecrest.
Pearl Lucy Rahm was born April 11, 1913 to Mary (Schneider) and Alois Rahm Jr. on their family farm near Doland, S.D. She was one of nine children and attended country school.
Pearl left Doland in the early 1940s moving with John Dalton "Jack" Kelly who was from Clark, S.D. to California. Pearl went to nursing school and became an LPN. She and Jack lived on the Silver Strand until Jack retired from the police force in Coronado Bay in southern California. They moved to Red Mountain where Jack passed away on July 10, 1985.
Pearl often spoke of all the good friends she had around Red Mountain and the surrounding towns and how she loved the desert. Pearl was very spirited and independent and like her home in the country where she could enjoy her dogs and cats. In the past she raised goats and chickens. She had a big heart and was always helpingor caring for someone or some animal. She helped at the Senior Centers in Red Mountain and Johannesburg and volunteered with the High Desert Nurtition Program in Ridgecrest. Her jokes and sense of humor will be missed by all of her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, her brothers Abel, Charles, Frank and Michael, her sisters Margaret (in infancy), Hazel and Effie, her niece Norma and a nephew Ronald. survivors include her sister Sylvia Jans of Redfield, S.D., sister-in-law LaVerne (Michael Rahm of Aberdeen, S.D., nephew Darwin Jans of Hurson, S.D., niece Janelle (Delbert) Fortin andher chiuldren Amy, Jonathan and Audrey and a great great nephew Connor all of Redfield, S.D.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday Nov. 30, 2005 at 12:15 pm at Rand District Cemetery, Johannesburg with Pastor Ozzie Napolis to officiate. The family requests casual dress for all attending the service.
