SHARON LEE JOCKISCH ZABEL 1943-2005
On Friday Dec. 16, 2005, Sharon Lee Jockisch Zabel lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Sharon was born Oct. 1, 1943 in Santa Monica to John and Jackie Jockisch. She grew up at China Lake and attended public schools. Shron and her entire family graduated from Burroughs High School. She also attened college in Yuba City.
Sharon lived in Ridgecrest and worked for the G.M. Genge Co. until she married Larry V. Zabel on Apr. 3, 1971. Sharon and her family lived in Walker Pass for 17 years until she and Larry moved to McAllister, Mont. where she lived until her death.
Sharon's interests and activities were varied. From 1983 to 1988 she worked as a cosmetologist at her sister's beauty salon in Ridgecrest. While in Ridgecrest she served as president of WACOM in the early 1980s. After moving to Montana she participated in the Ennis Arts Association, bowling leagues, Madison Valley's Women's club and Mad Gals. Sharon enjoyed backpacking, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, arrowheard hunting and painting.
Sharon loved traveling and attending art shows with Larry and supporting his art career. She was a fantastic hostess and put together many large and small parties.
Sharon loved lengthly conversationsm, hoping to help people see and life life (sic) at its best, or just to make them laugh and enjoy life. Sharon enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Larry V. Zabel of McAllister, Mont., son Steve Zabel of Bozeman, Mont., son Jon Zabel and wife Serena of Las Vegas, Nev., daughter Christi Fisher and husband Todd of Creston, daughter Rebecca Zabel of Bozeman, Mont., seven grandchildren, sister Charlotte Carroll and husband Clay of Ridgecrest, brother Dan Jockisch and wife Charlotte of Wauconda, Wash., stepfather John Mackay of Bishop, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her dearest friends and confidants Dixie Gates of Ennis Mont. and Jenny Eye of Reno, Nev.
There will be two memorial services: One in bozeman, Mont. on thursday Jan. 5, 2006 at Grace Bible Church and one in Ridgecrest on Friday Jan. 13, 2006 at 11 am at Crossroads Community Church. Pastor Bill Corley will officiate.
In lieu of flower donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be held Friday Jan. 13 at 11 am at Crossroads Community Church, 235 N. China Lake Blvd. Pastor Bill Corley will officiate. Another memorial service will be at the Bozeman, Mont. Grace Bible Church on Jan. 5.

Sharon enjoyed backpacking, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, arrowhead hunting and painting. She loved traveling, attending art shows with Larry and supporting his career. She was a fantastic hostess and put together many large and small parties.
She loved long conversations hoping to help people live life at its best or just to laugh and enjoy life. Sharon enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband Larry V. Zabel of McAllister, sons Steve Zabel of Bozeman, Mont., and Jon Zabel and wife Serena of Las Vegas, Nev., daughters Christi and husband Todd Fisher of Creston and Rebecca Zabel of Bozeman and seven grandchildren.
Also surviving her are her sister Charlotte and husband Clay Carroll of Ridgecrestm brother Dan Jockisch and wife Charlotte of Wauconda, Wash., stepfather John Mackay of Bishop, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her dearest friends and confidantes Dixie Gates of Ennis and Jenny eye of Reno.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
