SHEFFIELD, Eula Christine - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, 203 So. H St. for Christine, 72, who passed away December 9 in her daughters home after along illness. Pastor J.T. Reed will officiate. Graveside services will be at Greenlawn on River Blvd. Christine was born in Texas, Feb. 2, 1915. The family moved to Bakersfield in 1936 where they farmed until 1946, then moved to Atascadero, where they owned and operated Sheffield's Market until 1955 then returned to Bakersfield where she resided until her death. She retired from J.C. Penney's in 1973. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Walter and her children, Bill and Bonnie Sheffield of Atascadero, Jack Sheffield, Betty and Bill Marchand of Bakersfield, Bob and Ginny Sheffield of Fresno; her grandchildren, Keith and Linda Sheffield and Greg Sheffield of Atascadero, Debra and Boyd Boggs, Denise and Steve Ehret, Karla and Larry Morris, Kenneth and Jo Marchand, Jim and!
Christine Marchand, Pam and Lindsay Wood of Bakersfield, Sandra Paillet, Mike and Lisa Sheffield, Kim and Erle Hogue of Fresno and 12 precious great-grandchildren, who loved and will miss Granny very much; sister, Wanda Trapp; brother in law and sister in law, Sam and Lorraine Sheffield and Melvin and Joyce Sheffield, of Bakersfield and numerous other family and friends in Bakersfield, Atascadero and Texas. Christine was active and faithful in 1st So. Baptist Church of Bakersfield in its earlier years. Most recently a member and active in Central Baptist Church until her health confined her to bed, where she still loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and untold friends. Memorial gifts may be made to Central Baptist Church or Kern Hospice of Bakersfield.
