Plan Services For William Maxwell
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, for a long time resident, William Maxwell, Sr. Mr. Maxwell first came to Mojave in 1933. His home was at 2233 Panamint St. He was born Dec. 19, 1901 in Eureka Utah, and passed away ,April 12, while on a visit to San Diego.
Bill was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion. He had been a miner at the Golden Queen Mine and also worked as a blasting expert many years ago during the construction of the Angeles Crest Highway. He had also been a fireman at the old Mojave Marine Base, a volunteer fireman and served the Board of the Mojave Fire commissioners. For many years he operated a radio and TV repair shop in Mojave.
He is survived by his wife Jane; a son, Wm. Maxwell, Jr. Pleasant Grove, Utah; a brother, Jim Maxwell, Eureka Utah; a sister Jane Reid, San Diego; and 5 grandchildren.
The services at the Stickel Mor:tuary Chapel will he conducted by Gordon Bunn, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Interment will be in the Mojave Cemetery.
