Services For Judge Patton
Funeral services for Judge Wesley D. Patton, 63, were held at the Tehachapi Masonic Ternple on November26, 1974. Judge Patton was born May 3, 1911, at St. John, Wash., and passed away at his home at 326 W. A St., Tehachapi, on Nov. 23. He moved to California in 1923, and joined the California Highway Patrol in 1937.
He came to Mojave in 1961 as commander of the Mojave Area CHP substation, where he remained until his retirement
on Dec. 31, 1969. He served in the Army as a Military Policeman from 1943 to 1946, with the 97th Division Infantry. He was Ielected as judge of the Tehachapi Justice Court in June, 1970, and took office on Oct. 1, 1970, and remained in that position until his death.
Judge Patton. was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Lions Club and the American Legion.
He is survived by wife, Jerry, at the home; two sons, Gary, .Sunnyvale, and Chad, So. Laguna Beach; a sister, Florence Grey, Long Beach, and four grandchildren.
The officers of the F. & A.M. Lodge #313 officiated at the 11 a.m. services assisted by Rev. Lewis L. Wakeland, Tehachapi Community Church Interment was in Tehachapi Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roy Beckham, Clay Jenkins, Ivan Baldwin, Bill Cox, Norman Price, Jerry Gavin, Richard VanBurkleo and Phil Downs, with all uniformed C H P personnel as Honorary palIbearers.
Stickel Mortuaries were in charge of arrangements.
