Man Killed In Dune Buggy

A 29-year-old Laguna Hills man was killed in a dune buggy roll-over accident last Sunday afternoon about 2 miles northwest of Mojave.
Pronounced dead on arrival at Tehachapi Hospital was Robert E. Botts, a passenger in the dune buggy driven by David B. Campbell, 33, Costa Mesa. Campbell was treated for a broken arm and multiple lacerations at A. V. Hospital and. released.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident may have been caused by a blowout of the left front tire on the buggy. The vehicle overturned at least once, and came to rest on its top. It was not clear whether the men were wearing seat belts, or had been thrown from the vehicle when it overturned.
