Lloyd A. Henry


Lloyd A. Henry was born in Magazine, Arkansas, August 7, 1910, beloved son of J. B. and Cora (Landers) Henry. The family moved to Panden, Oklahoma in 1919 where he graduated from high school. He received his bachelors degree in 1936 from Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma. He married Gladys Bradley September 1, 1936. They were married for 62 years until she died November 10, 1998. He served in Naval Air in San Diego, California in WW11 & taught aircraft mechanics at South Base School in Norman, Oklahoma both as an instructor & supervisor.
Lloyd taught school for 26 years in Oklahoma. He earned his masters degree in School Administration in 1962 From Western State College, Gunnison Colorado. In 1967 he moved to Corona, California where he finished his teaching career as an assistant principal.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Teacher's Association, the California Teacher's Association & the National Education Association. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the California Community Church of California City since 1974. Lloyd moved to French Camp, California in 1994 and passed away there on 23 July 2006.
Lloyd is survived by his sister in law, Lorene Henry, many nieces, nephews & friends. Lloyd and Gladys had no children of their own and adopted Judy (Veryl) Butterfield of California City as their daughter
