JESUS 'CHUY' QUEZADA 1919-2006

Jesus "Chuy" Quezada passed away on Feb. 22, 2006 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Chuy was born Jan. 30, 1919 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He lived in Trona from 1926 through 1991 when he moved to Ridgecrest.
Chuy graduated in 1942 with the first graduating class of Trona High School.
He was employed by AP&CC from 1937 through 1967 when it was acquired by Kerr McGee Corp. He continued his employment with Kerr McGee through his retirement in 1984. He began his creer (sic) in the shipping department, at the time of his retirement he was senior electrical design engineer.
In 1943 Chuy enlisted in the US Army. He served as a radio operator overseas in Europe during World War II.
Chuy was an accomplished and avid golfer. He won the Quezada Family Tournament six times, had six holes-in-one, and had the course record for the original Trona Golf Course.
Chuy is survived by his wife of 59 years Gloria, his daughter Laura Quezada, son-in-law Jay Rebert and grandsons Joshua and Daniel Rebert, as well as his cherished brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Chuy was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Lydia, his parents Eduardo and Eloisa Quezada and his brothers Arthur, Steve and Mundo.
Memorial services will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Ridgecrest at 11 am on Friday March 17.
