Services For Lloyd Poole
Funeral services for Lloyd T. Poole, 77 were held in the First Baptist Church in Mojave on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Mr. Poole was born in Hays, Kansas on August 2, 1899, and passed away at his home at 15943 Jean Dr. on Oct. 10 following a lengthy illness. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1911 to 1925, and had lived in California for 40 years.
Mr. Poole had lived in Mojave for the past four years, and had been employed at Willie’s Mobile Service. He had previously owned his own service station and had moved here from the Rosemead area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Mojave AARP Chapter #810.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Clara M. Poole, at the home.
Rev. Olin G. Collier, First Baptist Church, officiated at the 11 a.m. services. Interment followed at the Mojave Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Murphy, Ray McBryant, Richard Willie, Charlie Pridgen, David Grenier and Jack Bright, Rick Willie, David Grenier and Jim Irvin. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Pridgen, Jack Bright, and Jim Greene. (sic)
Stickel Mortuaries were in charge of arrangements.
