Services were held Friday, Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. at Wood Family Funeral Service for Jesus Jose Garcia, 74, who
passed away Monday, Aug. 21, in Tehachapi.
Jesus was born in Mexico on June 16,1932, to parents Bruno and Hobita Solano Garcia. He was quite a cowboy in his younger days in Mexico.
He moved to the United States in the 1950's and remained in the Los Angeles area until moving to Tehachapi a year ago.
His love of animals (goats, ducks, cats, dogs, horses, etc.,) kept him busy. He talked to all of his animals as he
hand-fed and brushed them. Jesus spent many hours in his garden, providing vegetables not only for his own family, but the neighbors too.
His friends and neighbors often carne to him for gardening and handyman advice. He was a well-respected man by those who knew him. Words like honest, caring, and a good husband and father were used to describe him. He was a 'jokester," a sharp dresser and loved to watch old cowboy movies and reminisce about his own riding days. Jesus wanted his farnily to be happy and held them under his wings.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Elisa Arsenia Garcia, of Tehachapi; son, Jose Garcia, also of Tehachapi; and numerous other relatives.
Pastor Ricardo Fuentes, of Los Angeles, conducted the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery
- Eastside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
