Services For Former Resident

Services were held at the Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel in Bakersfield last Friday for William V. Mays, a former resident of Mojave.
Mr. Mays, 33, 8800 Jeffrey Ave., Lamont, was born in Oklahoma and had lived in Kern County for 24 years. He had lived in Mojave several years ago, and was employed at the California Portland Cement plant.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; three daughters, ~Gloria June, Rhonda Jean, and Julie Ann, all of Lamont;
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Mays of Lamont; a brother, Bob C. Mays, Lamont; 2 sisters; Faye Louise Maples, Bakersfield, and Hazel Jeanette Smithson, Bakersfield.
Thomas Borwey of Mojave was one the pallbearers, as well as Morris Grantham, Joe Elizando, Tim Graham, Walter Weissbach.
The Rev. Paul Winters of the Revival Tabernacle Church, Lamont, officiated at the services. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
