Services For Mabel Wilkerson

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel M. Wilkerson, a 45year resident of the Mojave area, were held last Saturday in the Stickel Mortuaries Chapel.
Mrs. Wilkerson was 73 at the time of her death in a Lancaster hospital. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on October. 2, 1898 and passed away April 19, 1972.
She first came to California when she was five years old, and moved to the Mojave area about 1928. She had also lived in Gypsite and Cantil. .
She worked in a number of jobs while in Mojave, including the old.five and dime, the drug store, Mojave Foods, as a waitress in several of the restaurants, and collecting water bills for the Utility District.
She married her husband, Fred, in 1932. He survives her at the home at 15972 K St. Also surviving is a son, Steven W. (Speedy) Harban of Hawthorne.
The 11 a.m. services were conducted by the Rev. James W. Chitty of the Mojave Community Church. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery. Stickel Mortuaries were in charge of arrangements.
