JOSEPH PHILLIP GAROT 1932-2006
Joseph Phillip Garot passed away at his home on Wednesday Sept 20, 2006. He was 74.
A memorial service will be held Monday Oct. 2 at 11 am at Immanuel Baptist Church, 201 Graaf Ave.
Joe was born on Feb. 17, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the United States Army and is a veteran of WWII. He was a recipient of the Army of Occupation (Germany) and National Defense Medls. He received an Honorable Discharge on October 11, 1954. Before moving to Ridgecrest 2 years ago Joe worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the San Bernardino City Unified School District until his retirement in 1995.
He loved Sports especially college football and professional golf and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and wife Dorothy Ross Garot.
He is survived by two sisters Marion Bauer of Palatine, Illinois, Marge Schufreider of Lincolnshire, Illinois. He is also survived by his son Guy Garot and daughter-in-law Ann Garot of Ridgecrest, and grandchildren Joshua and Gabrielle Gartot, daughter Lisa Jacobs and son-in-law Erick Jacobs of Ridgecrest and grandchildren Chaz and Jamie Jacobs, daughter Aliza Mulhern and son-in-law Scott Mulhern of Yuma, Ariz., and step-daughter Heather Ross of Lake Tahoe.
