I have some lines of Caldwells that lived in various places in NY.
The Caldwell database on my site is out-of-date, in particular with
regards to NY Caldwells. I'm currently going through the censuses
looking up more of these families. Most lived up in the area from
the eastern shore of Lake Ontario to the VT border or in the extreme
southwest part of the state - a few landed in the middle.
