My gg grandfather was born in county Cork in 1759. He came to America with his brother, Dennis Callaghan, prior to 1792 when I have good paper on my John getting married and buying land in Bath county, VA. Family moved to Jackson county, OH in 1811.

My great grandfather, Jeremiah, oldest child of 'old' John dropped the 'g' from the name.

Passed down hsitory is that the brothers seperated here in US and lost track of each other.

I have no idea if my Dennis was older or yonger than my John?? If younger it might make with your Dennis ??? What do you have history on your Dennis prior to 1860?

Have you looked at my Callahan, Callaghan, O'Callaghan Project on FTDNA? Only have about a dozen listed so far but with time may get enough DNA to make connections for some.
