Marilyn,
remember that I found a record for a William Callison that received land in Tn. along about that time. I can't remember the details. Could that have been him? The records for early Tn. are very sketchy, as you know.

Hi all, It is 5 AM and I am making my list and checking it twice. No, not
for Santa but for my annual research trip to Salt Lake City. Actually leaving
right after the New Year -- Jan. 6 -13. I plan on one day of Danish research --
that is about all I can take with the old Danish handwriting that I have to
work so hard to try to pick out familiar words and then the fancy handwriting
on faded pages.
I would like to find the marriage date for Nancy Callison in early Kentucky.
I think that is our earliest KY reference. Does anyone have that date
already?
Has anyone done and court records for Lincoln Co., KY. They are tedious. I
have finished the land and the property tax records but did not know if anyone
had already been through the court records-- another tedious job.
Chalkey's book pretty much covered all the court proceedings for Augusta Co.
Va -- THANK YOU MR. CHALKEY. I also have Greenbrier Co., VA court orders but
I don't see any for Bath Co.
I would love to find just ONE reference to William, brother of John, in the
years that he is missing 1796-1806. He did not pay any property tax in
Lincoln Co., KY or Greenbrier/Bath Co., VA in those years so WHERE WAS HE? Gallia
Co., OH tax list starts in 1800 but he does not show up there until 1806
along with a John, James, Robert and Nancy Callison.
I have ordered a 37 marker DNA test for a male line from Alexander. The
gentleman should have gotten it a couple of weeks ago but FTDNA has not had it
returned yet. Keep your fingers crossed.
If anyone has any ideas where to look for William -- or if anyone has done
and court proceeding for the early family -- please let me know so I can tackle
another job while in SLC.
Take care all. Marilyn
