Originally, the Wadsworth building was a residence for disabled patients who
lived at the VA hospital complex. When the huge new hospital complex was
built across the street on Wilshire Blvd. (and the residents of the original
residence--in spite of their uproar-- were relocated to Oregon's VA
hospitals because of the construction), the beautiful older building was
rennovated as Wadsworth Theatre. (I was among the many who breathed a sign
of great relief that the building was not destroyed for the sake of
"progress.")
