ANSCHLAG'S EXECUTION.
Santa Ana Reporters Can Enjoy the Coveted Spectacle.
Sheriff Kays was greatly astonished at reading a dispatch, in yesterday's
Tribune, from Santa Ana expressing dissatisfaction with an alleged order from
him excluding reporters of that city from Anschlag's execution. No order has
or will be made excluding press representatives from the execution. The
sheriff is bothered tremendously with applications to be present, and intends
to only admit those authorized by law. All these seekers for sensational
experiences are, however, liable to be greatly disappointed, for it is highly
probable that the miserable wretch will not be hung for several months yet. If
the case is once taken up by the Supreme Court, and Anschlag's relatives
furnish the requisite funds to keep the contest going, he will probably be able
to defer his execution for a long time, though there is no question as to the
final result.
