I am in hope that someone might be able to find an obituary on my Grandmother's sister, Ruby Kern. Apparently she fell at her home at 2045 Hobart Blvd, Los Angeles 11/24/1967, then it appears was probably at Gen. Hospital until her death Jan 9, 1968.

California death index has Ruby Kern (that exactly matches our Paulina/Lena/Ruby Bray Kern, born 2/12/1879 (it has place totally unknown) she was though born in Iowa. died 1/9/1968, CA, Los Angeles(70), 88 yrs.
The death certificate extration for Ruby Kern gives those same dates and also says L. A. Long Beach, that she was divorced, was a Ret. Saleslady for Bullock's Company Dept. Store, years UNK, Name of Father Unknow, nothing in birthplace for city, state, county, mother's maiden name: Unknown, Informant was Office of Public Administration L. A. CA.

Burial 1-22-1968 Verdugo Hills Cemetery and the funeral director B. W. Coon Funeral Home. also gave the 2045 So. Hobart Blvd, Los Angeles, death date 1/9/1968 and cause of death etc.
Gave burial at Verdugo Hills Cemetery, a search shows that as being at 7000 Parsons Trail Tujunga CA 91042
It did a search and found information indicating that the former B. W. Coon Funeral Home is now Stricklin-Snively Mortuary, 1952 Long Beach Blvd. Long Beach, CA 90806.
What newpaper might be most apt to have an obituary provided there was one?
I know that Ruby (also known as Paulina and Lena) had been married to Roy Kern, most likely married Los Angeles before 1920 and I am not aware of any children.
I do have what I feel is Ruby and her sister Bessie Bray in 1910 Los Angeles census, also Ruby with Roy Kern in 1920 and 1930 Los Angeles and Roy is a Fireman.
Any help appreciated.
