Barbara,

Got your recent message about the Doynes. In it
you state:

"Wm. Calvert & Eliz. (Stone) Calvert had, among
others, Geo. who. m. Eliz. DOYNE, sister of
Robert."

O'Gorman never identified George's wife, see
pages 66, 67, and 68. Of course she was very
fussy about having written proof.

McKenzie in Volume VI of Colonial Families of the
United States identified Elizabeth Doyne as being
the wife of George Calvert (son of William
Calvert). This was published in 1917 and Ella Foy
O'Gorman had 30 years mull over the possibility
of Elizabeth being George's wife before she
published her book in 1948.

Likewise, we find the same situation with John
Calvert's marriage to Elizabeth Harrison, which
comes from McKinzie, while Ella shows John with
an unknown wife. (This Elizabeth is not from the
Burr Harrison clan who were friends and
neighbors of the Calverts.)

Until we find something better, most of will
probably list these two Elizabeths as being
Calvert wives. I am hoping that researchers of
the Doyne and Harrison lines will help confirm or
deny the possibilities.

George Calvert
