Disreguard the message from me and read the one from Robert.
He is looking for a Calvert. Maybe someone can help him.
Thanks, Vicki K

>Robert, I am writing to you because you are listed on Il.
>SAR web site as living in Texas, as I do. I am at the SAR of
I>l. looking for my ancestor Daniel Byers, and I've found
>him. I have tried getting Rev. War records and been told
>none exist. I know some do somewhere.
>On the IL. SAR web site his name is listed along with these
>numbers:
>BIER, Daniel 5-127; 5-382; 12-318
>Will you tell me what the numbers stand for and how can I go
>about getting Daniel's war records?
>In 1781 Daniel was granted 400 acres on the Rolling Fork of

>1780 in campaigns against the Shawnee allies of the British

Vicki: No I am sorry, but I don't know what the numbers shown on the Illinois
Web site refer to. Their web manager may be able to refer you to someone who
knows. I would think that a record of the land grant for services rendered
would be enough to get into the DAR or the SAR. Wish I could help.

You have me curious now about your CALVERT line. My wife just recently
discovered that she descends from a WILLIAM CALVERT who was born 1700 in
Henrico or Chesterfield County, VA, and died 1745 in Dale Parish, Chesterfield
County, VA. He married TEMPERANCE EASILY. He was probably also from the same
family as Leonard Calvert and brother Cecil, the Lord Proprietor, (Lord
Calvert) who settled Maryland. Do you have much information on the CALVERT's?

Good Luck on your search.
