SERVICES HELD FOR J. R. COVERT

Funeral services for Joseph R. Covert, who succumbed Friday morning in
a local hospital, following a brief illness, were held this afternoon at
2 o'clock from the Jay Mortuary chapel. Rev. J. S. Bellinger officiated.

Covert was a native of Pennsylvania and had lived in Madera since 199 [that
is the way it reads]. He is survived by his wife in Sacramento; five daughters,
Mrs. E. W. Robbins of Oregon, Mrs. A. L. West of Redding, Mrs. Helen Fiste
of Scaramento, Miss Georgia Covert of Sacramento, and Mrs. Davod Linely
of Sacramento; five sons, William V. Covert, F. F. Covert, J. R. Covert,
Jr., all of Oregon, and C. F. Covert of Rio Vista and Paul Covert of Sacramento;
17 grandchildren and one great grandson.

Coverts five sons acted as pallbearers. Interment was in Arbor Vitae cemetery.
