Patricia S. McGilvray
Patricia Sarll McGilvray died March 29, 2000, at the Stollwood Convalescent Hospital in Woodland. Born on Dec. 12, 1916, in Madera, to the late Dr. Frank and Flora Sarll, she was 83.
She was a resident of Yolo County for 61 years. She began her teaching career at the Holy Rosary School in 1959 and taught there for a short time before teaching at Cacheville Elementary in Yolo until it closed.
She then taught at Laugenour School until 1972 and Freeman Elementary until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Omega Nu Sorority and a former member of St. Paul's Altar Society in Knights Landing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Krohn McGilvray, on June 13, 1972; and her sister, Eleanor Sarll McCann.
She is survived by her son, Jack Pepper of Kentucky; grandchildren, Bucky Pepper of Kentucky and Amanda Pepper of Tennessee; two nieces, Mary McCann Zakai of Santa Clara and her husband Avi and Victoria Gonsalves of Modesto and her husband Jeff; and a cousin, Patricia McKillican of Lakeport.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Rosary Church, with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
