Hello Merced residents

I have just found information that my great-great grandmother (Eliza PHILLIPS) whom I have been searching for a really lone time died in 1898 at her daughter's (Teresa S. Phillips JOLLEY) home on Alameda street in Merced. I can not remember an Alameda street in Merced. Is it still there, or has it been changed to another name, or maybe the better question is, was there ever an Alameda street.
