Thank you for responding. I am afraid that I have neither a Mary J or a
Molly. Eli moved his family from Washington to the Yosemite Valley in 1910
and later to Dos Palos sometime before December 6, 1919 when his daughter
Cora married my grandfather William Ralph Winters.
I am interested in your statement regarding Elmer John Maddox. You say
he was a deacon in the Christian Church. My great grandfather was Pastor
of a Christian Church in Dos Palos from November 1908 to 1915, and again
from November 1922 to March 18, 1923. It was on that date that, after preaching
a sermon and conducting a Bible class that he suffered a stroke of paralysis
at about 2PM. He was also part owner\editor of the Dos Palos Star. Perhaps
Elmer knew my great grandfather?
