Welcome, Jeannie! Glad you are "mom" to this list, and I am grateful for
your posting of "expectations" for this list .... :)

My name is Ruth. The Cameron's are my mom's side of the family. My mom
died when I was young, and after my dad remarried soon after, I and my
brother & sister were basically cut off from my mom's side of the family.
So, now that I am 40 (!), I want to know about my mom's ancestry.

This is what I have through the help of volunteers who have done lookups for
me in Michigan .... which gave me a direction towards Canada and then
Scotland .... this is where I need a lot of help!

My g-grandfather: Alexander Cameron, b. 1862, St. Clair Co., MI

My g-g-grandfather: William Cameron, married Ann McCowan/Cowan

My g-g-grandfather: William Cameron, b. 1798, somewhere in Scotland;
married Mary McCormick, @ St Raphael's Ch., Glengarry Co., Oct. 1820.

My g-g-g-grandfather (my brickwall!): Donald Cameron - all I was given on
him was that he left Scotland in 1802.... thus, son William would have been
4 y/o ... don't know the name of his Donald's wife, as the marriage record
for William & Mary did not have all the "blanks" filled in.... There are
four Donald's listed as sailing to Canada in 1802 .... each from different
"town", all sailed from Fort WIlliam, and landed in Port of Entry Montreal
.... there was one Donald listed with a wife and 2 children .... I could
supposed that's him .... but I don't have any info. on him at all, with
dates, places, etc.....

I know a lot of you are looking for "your Donald" .... hope each of us can
found a match!!!

"Do not lose hope!" - Happy and blessed New Year to all!

Ruth
