My Grandfather, Herman Camerer was married to Emma Jane Clayton. They had 5 children, Clyde, Edith Marguerite Fish, Linda Hamilton, Leatha Hammer, and Stella Coolly Bryant. He also had a half sister, Sadie Enitinger from Iona, Michigan. I am told he was born in Michigan and she, Emma Jane, was born in Kansas.
In 1914 Herman changed the family name to Cameron because of the increasing prejudice due to the German activity in Europe.
I'm hoping these names and the name change tidbit will stir a memory and I'll connect up with a cousin who could tell me a little more about this family.
