Elder Simmons and wife moved into the new parsonage last week.

Mrs. Jennie Toney came home Friday from a short visit to Portland.

Surprise Valley has been having some very hard rain storms the past week.

Misses Crestine Robdiox (?) and Frankie Smith, of Ft. Bidwell, were visitors
in Lake City Sunday.

Frank Gaines was canvassing the valley last week. He is agent for E. C.
Steward school supplies.

Mr. and Mrs. Bachtle have moved down to Mr. Trimble's, where they have their
bees, for the summer.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Polander left last week for Sierra Valley, where they will
make their future home.

Dr. Whittier and family passed through here on their way to Portland, where
the doctor goes on business matters.

Elder Wash Reynolds preached at the Soldier Creek schoolhouse last Sunday
evening, in the absence of Elder Simmons.

Miss Rose Heard is able to be around again without crutches. She was injured
in a run-away accident a few weeks ago.

The question has been asked; "Why does Mr. Kimsey look so sad of late?"
Easily answered: Because the Washington school has closed.

Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Wilson and son, Keith, Mrs. Maude Milton, and children,
and Mr. and Mrs. Simmons made a visit to Warner Valley last week. Mr.
Simmons preaches in Warner Valley once a month.

Miss Hazel Heard, who has been visiting friends and relatives at this place,
left for her home at Eagleville Saturday. She and her brother, Perry, will
go to Humbug Valley in a short time, where they will make their future home
with their aunt, Miss Mable Miller.

Miss Maud Hobbs stole a march on some of her friends, and on the 9th invited
the minister and his wife to dinner. After dinner the solemn words were said
which changed her name to Mrs. Curtis Lusk. The entire community joins in
wishing the young couple a long and happy wedded life.

Mr. and Mrs. Fulton Heard returned home last Friday. They have been visiting
friends and relatives at Stony Ford, Sacramento, Berkeley, and other parts of
the State. Mr. Heard was also a delegate to the I.O.O.F. grand lodge, which
met in the city the 11th of May. Their daughter, Miss Etta, who has been in
Sacramento all winter, returned home with them.

11. America by the audience under the leadership of the Choir.

There will be a parade starting from in front of the Church at 10 A.M. and in
the afternoon there will be foot races and base ball, concluding with a Grand
Ball the evening of the 5th, at the town hall under the auspices of the N. S.
G. W. and N. D. G. W.
