This is the obituary of a grandson of Mary Ann Neasham and Andrew J.Morris/

Glenn Cleland

Glenn Cleland, 70, passed away Nov. 5, 2004, in Winnemucca, Nev., after
a day watching the Senior Pro Rodeo Finals.

Glenn was born Feb. 2, 1934 in Lakeview to Charles Albert and Florence
Morris Cleland. He was raised in Adel. He had two older brothers, Andrew
Velton and Charles Ellsworth.

Glenn graduated from Lakeview High School in 1952. He enlisted in the
Army November 1953, serving his country for two years at various places
including Germany for 11 months.

Glenn married Sylvia Sumerlin Nov. 26, 1955 and they spent most of their
life in Adel where they had four children. Glenn worked at various
places including the MC Ranch, and the Lake County Road Department
before becoming a mechanic for Warner Valley, which he did for a number
of years.
In 1970 Glenn started contracting for the BLM, Forest Service,
Weyerhaeuser and other private companies doing work brush piling,
reforestation, tree planting and other types of Cat work.

He eventually returned to running the Cleland Ranch where he spent the
rest of his life.

He devoted a lot of time to maintaining the Adel TV system, was chairman
of the school board when the community hall was moved to its present
location, and helped establish the Adel Cemetery, spending several years
making improvements including the lawn.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew Velton and Charles
Ellsworth; and Jeny and Ann Cleland.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Adel; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Chuck and Correne of Klamath Falls and Bill and Sally
of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Les Lucht, Silverton,
and Sue and Gayle McLain of Adel; and numerous grandchildren.

Visitation was at the Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel
Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Graveside services were at the
Adel Cemetery Wednesday, Nov. 10 with the Rev. Raymond Hopp officiating.
Interment followed the services.

Pallbearers were Bob Crawford, Jere Barry, Jim Linebaugh, Harold Dyke,
Don Robinson and Joe Cahill. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn’s friends,
who are too numerous to list.

Following the services there was a potluck reception at the Adel Hall.

Adel 97620 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel had charge of
