MRS. EMMA HUDSON DIED YESTERDAY
Mrs. Emma Hudson, a native of Ann Arbor, Mich, but for fifty-two years a resident of this valley, passed away at the family home in this city yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock, aged 73 years and 10 months.
Mrs. Hudson was the widow of the late Mark Hudson, who for many years was the agent of the Pacific coast Steamship Company at Hudson’s Landing; the mother of Mrs. James Trafton, Thomas F. Hudson of this city, Mrs. Frank D. Blackburn of Santa Barbara, and a sister of Mrs. L. A. Firby, of this city.
The passing of Mrs. Hudson takes another pioneer from the valley. A woman who witnessed all stages of development of this region and who had an important part in that work. She was known, loved and respected by the early settlers here and the later comers who have met her have found her a friend in every way. She will be greatly missed from the community.
Funeral services will be held from the family residence, 307 East Third street, Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 1919, at 2:30 o’clock. Interment at the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
