Pat, I checked the Monterey Herald from Dec. 30 1993 through Jan 7 1994 and was unable to locate an obituary.

Did you get his death data from SSDI or from the CA Death Index? If from the SSDI, the "last residence" data doesn't necessarily mean he died here--just that the Pacific Grove address is the most recent data the SSA had on file for him.
