Henry,
There are so many Camps -- I don't know if the ones I have traced are the
same as yours, but here's what I have.
Thomas Campe, Jr. b. abt. 1630 in Chignall St. James, Essex County,
England, married Sarah Williamson (their son, Thomas Campe I, moved to
Virginia and died in 1711 in King and Queen County).
Thomas Campe, Jr.'s father was Thomas Campe, b. abt. 1591 in Essex,
England. I don't have any information on the mother.
Thomas Campe's father, William Campe, was born in England abt. 1555.
William's wife was Mary Farmer.
The above information came from a GEDCOM posted by Jon D. Ayres on
Travelers Southern Families, http://www.hsv.tis.net/genealogy. I have
not looked at this site recently so don't know if it's still there.

My information on Nathan (Nathaniel) Camp comes from Jeanette Holland
Austin's book on diskette, "CAMP/CAMPE of England, Virginia, N. C.,
Georgia (1630-1987), published in 1996. Again, I don't know if this is
the same person that you mention.
Nathaniel Camp, child of Thomas Camp and Winifred Starling, was born in
Virginia in 1745 and died in Gwinnett County, Georgia. He married
Winifred Tarpley. Since it is not my direct line, I did not post
information on his descendants, but they can be found in Jeanette
Austin's book. Another reference, K. K. White's "The King's Mountain
Men," gives Nathaniel's birth date as 1748.
Hope this will be helpful, either directly or by stimulating someone else
to come up with some answers for you.
George Nelson
