Hi,
My g-grandparents were John Wood St.Clair and Martha (Kemp/Camp) St. Clair,
married in Johnson county in 1865 and moved to Erath Co in 1879.
In my research, the name St.Clair has been found with several variation of
spellings: St.Clair, St.Clere, SaintClair, SaintClere, Sinclair, Sinclere,
Sinkler, Cinkler, St.Claire, Sinclaire. Sometimes St. Clair is spelled with
a period (St.Clair), sometimes without the period and with a space between
(St Clair) and sometimes as a single word (StClair).

I have found the "Camp" name with several different spellings also: Camp,
Campe, Kamp, Kampe, Kemp, Cemp

I don't know if any of you have problems finding records at a moments
notice,
well I did, so I put all my family info into Binders, and I still have
problems finding what I want. This did take time because I had spent 30
years
on McAdams Research plus some other Lines. I was looking for this census
below, in Erath Co.

I have a question about the people who are related to the St. Clair line.
Is
St. Claire and Sinclair the same family variation of names?

I had never noticed this Kemp family below until, I started researching the
Camp Line.

I found these Kemps on the census in Pigeon, Erath Co, this little community
was between Huckabay & Lingleville, (Erath Co. TX. This family was living
close to my Polly Matilda Camp-Bullard and other family members. Wondered if
anyone could be from this family.

2.Hanna?………..White Female..b:Apr. 1860 age 40 TX AR AR
3.Minnie E……...White Female b: Feb. 1889 age 11 TX IL TX
4. C? L. …………White Male..b: Sep…1891 age 09 TX IL TX
5. Annie…………White Female b: Apr…1894 age 06.TX IL TX
6.Bessie………….White Fem. b: Sep…1895 age 04 TX IL TX
7.William J?……..Whiet Male…b Nov.. 1897 age 02 TX IL TX

Just in case someone out there is looking for these people. Hope this helps
someone. They are probably related to my line. I just do not know where the
belong. I looked in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery (Record) that was near buy
but did not see any of these people.

Was there also a Hawkins Camp?
