Married - The friends of Miss Ruby Campbell and Oscar Scheske Jr. will be
surprised to learn of their marriage which took place yesterday afternoon
at 3:15 in the rectory of St. Peters Cathedral, with Msgr. J. H.
Schlarmann officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Minnie Gordon of
11a Public Square. The groom is a son of Mr and Mrs. Oscar Scheske of 949
East Main street. The young couple will reside with the brides mother for

Miss Vera Campbell, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Carl Campbell, of Reeb Station,
today observed her 13th birthday anniversary. The Daily Advocate,

Marissa - Mr and Mrs. Willard Campbell of Chicago are announcing the
arrival of a baby boy, Robert Giles in their home. This makes Mr and Mrs.
James Campbell, of Marissa grandparents for the first time. The Daily

William Campbell of Marissa Dies Pneumonia Victim - Retired Building
Contractor Sick Only Five Days - William Campbell, 75, a retired building
contractor of Marissa, died at his home there last night at 9:10 after a
five days illness due to pneumonia. He was born at Baldwin, Ill. July 6,
1856, a son of the late Thomas Camp-bell, who came from Ireland and the
late Jennie Campbell, (nee Rutherford), who came from Scotland. He married
Hannah Bahrenburg at Nashville, Ill. in 1889. In addition to his widow,
he is survived by three sons, Glenn and Dean Campbell, Marissa, Lee
Campbell, Sparta; a daughter, Mrs. Silken Jones, Marissa; two brothers,
Thomas Campbell, Sparta and James Campbell, Glendale, Cal.; three sisters,
Mrs. Mary Ewing, Misses Bette and Margaret Campbell, all of Sparta; an
aunt, Mrs. Bettie Haverfield, Marissa; four grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 from the home to the
United Presbyterian church at Marissa, Rev. T. R. Aiken, officiating.
Burial will be in the Marissa cemetery. The Daily Advocate, Belleville, IL

William R. Campbell - William R. Campbell, a miner, died at his home, 614
East Monroe Street, this morning at 9 o'clock after a lingering illness,
aged 38 years, 6 months and 7 days. The deceased was born in Du Quoin
(Illinois) November 2, 1885, a son of Mr and Mrs. James Campbell. He was
united in marriage to Miss Minnie Young 19 years ago. He is survived by his
wife and three children, Ruby, Ruth and James Campbell and his parents, Mr
and Mrs. James Campbell. The remains will be shipped to Du Quoin Saturday
morning at 8:20 o'clock from the family residence. The funeral will be held
Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Du Quoin. The Daily Advocate,
Belleville, IL 4 May, 1924.
