Fellow listers:
I am seeking info on the possible birthplace of my ancestor, JAMES CAMPBELL,
born about 1773, in (according to family notes) Argyll, Scotland. The first
evidence of his arrival here in America was birth of his first child, Polly,
born 7/15/1786 in Bedford, NH. (NH Vital Records). James married Elizabeth
BURNS ca.1785, Bedford, NH.
My brother has found two possibilities for a JAMES from Familysearch.org:
Born about 1775 in Barcaldine, Ardchattan, Argyllshire, to Alexander
Campbell and
Helen Sinclair.
Born 20 Nov 1773 in Inverary, Argyll, to Archibald Campbell and Margaret
Bell.
If anyone has info of possible location of birthplace of a James Campbell
described above, I would deeply appreciate sharing that with you.
Regards, James W. White, son of Edna (Campbell) White
Brookline, MA
