My great greatgrandparents James Patrick CAMPBELL and Mary DILLIN
were from Northern Ireland, County Tyrone, the Ardboe area, which is near
Coagh. He was a fisherman of Lough Neagh and died at age 40 in a boat
accident in November 1880.
I am a descendant of his son Patrick James CAMPBELL and his sister
Mary CAMPBELL also went to the US. However, not sure about the
details of what happened to the rest of the family. I do not know when
Mary DILLIN CAMPBELL passed away or if she remarried. Also, if there
were other children who stayed in (Northern) Ireland.
I have so many questions:
1) Are there experts regarding the fishermen of Lough Neagh and
the historic aspects of fishing at that time?
2) Does anyone have CAMPBELL or DILLIN ancestry from that
area? They would have been Roman Catholic.
The ancestors seem impossible to trace.
I have names in my lists (from my grandmother)
that do not seem to match birth records. Children of
James Patrick CAMBPELL (1840-1880) seem to be:
Bridgit ??? (no birth record so far, but was sister per my grandmother)
James ??? (no birth record so far, but was brother per article)
John 1864-
Sara 1865-
Eliza 1870-
Mary 1871- (no birth record so far, but was sister per my grandmother)
Catherine 1872-
Patrick James 1874-1940
Annie 1879-
Appreciate any help!
