Hello: I don't know if there is a connection or not. "My" William
Campbell was born in 1853c, enlisted in Rev. War at Germantown
(NJ???) and fought throughout in Lee's Legion. The only info I have
about this time period is from his Rev. War pension application. He
appeared in Ohio co., KY in 1804 when he purchased land there. He
lived there until about 1844 when he moved with his son-in-law Asa
Allen to IL and died shortly thereafter.
I only know the name of one son - Andrew Campbell, b. 1784 in NJ.
His dau. Sarah was born in 1791 in KY(?). It would be tempting to
think that "your" William was a brother of Andrew, moved first to
Scott Co., IN followed by Andrew. But this is pure speculation.
There were so many Campbells in early KY that I have almost given up
trying to separate them.
Sorry I cannot be of more help. Good luck in your research!
