Etta Mae Pennington, 89 of Clearview Circle, Lenoir, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 at Shaire Center.
She was born Aug. 7, 1915 in West Jefferson, NC to the late Calvin Campbell and Maggie Pennington Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Eli Pennington; a son-in-law Jackie Austin; a brother, James Campbell; and two sisters, Mable Campbell and Blanche Sheets.
Mrs. Pennington was a homemaker and member of Lower Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Otis Pennington, Gerald Pennington, Jackie Pennington and Larry Pennington, all of Lenoir; a daughter, Nancy Austin of Lenoir; a brother Robert Campbell of Roseland, Va., a sister Lucille Stamper of Chillowie, Va., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Roger Beck, Rev. Phil Frady and Rev. Frank Hall officiating. The body will lie in state 30 min. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family received friends Friday, September 10, 2004 at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Pennington, Greg Pennington, Marcus Pennington, Kevin Pennington, Rusty Pennington and Brandon Pennington, all grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jr. Todd, Florencio Pereira and Mike Warren.
