OBITUARIES:
RONALDS, Ivan Frederick
Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick on October 28, 1918. Passed away quickly
and peacefully on May 1, 2001 at Delta General Hospital after a long battle
with cancer. Devoted husband of Mae Elizabeth (McLean) Ronalds, father of
Ken (Susan), Ian (Lorel), and Bill (Joan). Grandfather to Kelly (Jono),
Scott Nicole, Julia, Christine, Kimberly, and Gregory. Step-Grandfather to
Alison (Greg & Ben) and Jeff. Great-grandfather to Madeline.
After graduating in 1941 from the University of New Brunswick in Civil
Engineering, Ivan served overseas with the R.C.A.F. in World War
II. Engineering projects took Ivan all over the world while based in
British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. As a dedicated and supportive
father he assisted his sons, daughters-in-laws and grandchildren in so many
ways. His generosity quietly continues through efforts like the Ivan F.
Ronalds Engineering Scholarship to UNB students.
In retirement Ivan dedicated his creative energy, wit and organizational
skills to the Tsawwassen Kinsmen Center, the Lawn Bowling Club and the
Tsawwassen United Church. This proud Maritimer was a well-respected member
of the community and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped Ivan achieve the quality
and dignity he sought in life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the
charity of your choice would be appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Tsawwassen United Church, 693 53rd
Street on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at 3:00pm.

Adopt-a-Street Program. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving
daughter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation
