KING _ Margaret (Peggy), born August 20, 1923, peacefully passed away in her sleep on
April 25, 2002. Peggy is predeceased by her husband, John and brothers, Sid and John
Pollard. Surviving Peggy are her 3 children, Doug (Heather), Barry and Sandra (Rob).
Also surviving Peggy are 2 loving grandchildren, Shaylee and Ryan, twin sister Claire
and eldest sister May. A service of remembrance will be held at Henderson's Funeral
Home, 20786 Fraser Highway, Langley on Tuesday, April 30 at 11 a.m.

WEBSTER _ Catherine Wynne (nee Robinson). Peacefully at Manoir Lac Brome, Knowlton,
Que., on Friday, April 19, 2002 just 9 days prior to her ninetieth birthday. Beloved
wife of the late Richard C. Webster, loving mother and mother-in-law of Alan & Sally,
Knowlton, Quebec; Joan & Derek Crossen, Montreal, Quebec; Peter & Nevenka, Vancouver,
BC; Nancy & John McFadyen, Toronto, Ont. Cherished Doidle to her ten grandchildren and
thirteen great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all her friends, especially
Frank. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2002 at St. Matthias
Church, 10 Church Hill, Westmount. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be
made to Alan W. Robinson Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Bishops College School, 80

ALPERSTEIN _ Estelle. It is with deep sadness that Estelle's family announces her death,
at age 64, in Richmond, BC, on April 26, 2002. Estelle's strength in coping with Crohn's
disease for many years and then a 10 month struggle with cancer was testament to her
spirit and joy of life which she radiated throughout and was felt by all who were
fortunate enough to know her. Estelle was creative and artistic and will always be
remembered for her lively personality, positive outlook on life and special ability to
attract people to her. Estelle was the beloved wife of Sidney Alperstein, with whom she
shared 44 years, nurturing mother to Miles, Kevin and Loren, daughters-in-law Anne and
Sandy and son-in-law Matty. Grandmother to Daniel, Zaccary, Aydan, Benjamin, Jared,
Hannah and Ellie, sister to Yvette Maltz and Norman Aisler, brother-in-law Arie Maltz
and sister-in-law Gillian Aisler, and her many nieces and nephews. Estelle will be
profoundly missed by all who knew her. Donations may be made, in Estelle's memory, to
the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.

KOVACS _ Mary, late of Abbotsford, passed away on April 26, 2002 at the age of 90 years
at Menno Hospital. She is survived by her granddaughter Clarissa Saunders and her
great-granddaughter Alouette Honig. She was predeceased by her husband John and her
daughter Audrey. Mary was married in 1930 in St. Ann's Church, Abbotsford where she
attended regularly until her passing. Along with her husband John, they had a tobacco
farm on Sumas prairie, that was later converted into a very successful dairy farm. They
retired to Mayfair Avenue where she enjoyed doing canning and baking from their big
vegetable garden. In July 2000 Mary fell and broke her knee and moved to Menno Hospital.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 8:00 pm with a funeral mass following
on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at 10:30 am from the St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church at 33333
Mayfair Avenue. Father Tien Tran officiating. Burial will be at Musselwhite Cemetery.
Reception to follow at St. Ann's Church. The family would like to thank the nursing and
recreation staff at Menno Hospital for all their wonderful care. Donations, if so
desired, in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. HENDERSON'S

WOOSTER _ Phyllis Martin, born December 21, 1904 died peacefully April 25, 2002.
Predeceased by her husband Hiram Ferris Wooster, sister Janice Gourlay, and brother
James Martin. Survived by her step-children Tony (Katie), Bill (Fran), Grace MacLean
(Bob), and relatives in England and California. A special thanks to the staff at St.
Vincent's extended care (Heather). At her request, no service will be held.

MILLS _ Doris Marian passed away peacefully in her sleep April 24, 2002 at the age of
74. Survived by her loving husband Gordon and children Judy, Harley (May), Zona (Toivo),
Robbin, and Ken (Dana); also 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial
Service will be held in Hope, B.C. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 2906-386 Fort
St., Hope, B.C. Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 1:00 pm.

CROWLEY _ Alan M. (Crash) passed away peacefully April 24, 2002 with his family at his
side. He was born in Fort William, ON and raised in Sioux Lookout, ON. He attended
university in Montreal and spend the majority of his adult life in B.C. He is survived
by his 3 children Kerry (Gail), Todd, and Dawn; his sisters Dorothy Moore of Montreal,
Frances McIvor of Winnipeg, and Catherine (Babe) Ludlow of Markham, ON; and many nieces
and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Ethel Crowley, and sister June
Wallace. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and family. Cremation has
already taken place, and the Memorial Service will be held in his home on Wednesday, May
1, at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society, or
a charity of your choice.

CAREK _ Nick passed away at home on April 26, 2002 in the arms of his loving wife
Beverly. He will be sadly missed by his wife Beverly of 42 years; two sons Darrell and
Greg; two grandchildren Tyson and Jacqlyn; six sisters; and numerous other family and
friends. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, May 1st, 2002, at 2:00 pm at Valley
View Funeral Home, 14660 72nd Ave., Surrey, B.C. Flowers are greatly appreciated.

MARSHALL _ Gordon Alfred passed away at Ridge Meadows Hospital on April 27, 2002 after a
brief illness.Gordon was born in Vancouver on March 4, 1913 and moved to Haney in 1918.
Survived by Myrtle, his loving wife of 61 years, son Eldie, daughter Carol, seven
grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He worked as a logger, truck driver, and
greenhouse operator in the Haney area all his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially
fishing, and was still making wooden bowls in his workshop at the time of his passing.
No service by request. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart
& Stroke Foundation.The family wish to thank Dr. L. Lim and Dr. R.G. Harrison and the
nurses and staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital for the wonderful care given to Gordon.
