In Memoriams (06/26/02)
BARKER _ Marjorie Happy Birthday, forever in our hearts. _Your family
In Memory of William Franklin Bush September 29, 1905 - June 26, 2000 Oh, I have slipped
the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've
climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds _ and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of _ wheeled and soared and swung. High in the sunlit silence,
hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung My eager craft through
footless halls of air. Up, up the long delirious, burning blue I've topped the windswept
heights with easy grace, Where never lark, or even eagle flew, And while with silent,
lifting mind I've trod The high, untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and
touched the face of God. Loved and missed, _ Carol, David, Marie, Victor, Kae, Fred,
Jennifer, David and Becky.
CHAMBERLAIN _ Don. June 3, 1944 - June 26, 2001. A year has come and gone since you left
us. I miss you bud. _Bryan
FRED PREUSS April 29, 1915 - June 26, 1997 Remembering you with love. Eva, Renate, Hans,
Sherri, and Abby.
SANDBECK _ Catherine (Cathie) June 9, 1925 - June 26, 2001 Our lives go on without you
But nothing is the same We have to hide our heartache When someone speaks your name Sad
are the hearts that love you Silent are the tears that fall Living our lives without you
Is the hardest part of all The special years will not return When we're all together But
with love within our hearts You will walk with us forever - Loving you and missing you,
Sandy, Bill, Cameron, Sabrina, Deirdre, Fiona and Jenn
SICKAVISH _ George, April 16, 1909 - March 20, 1977. Florence May 5, 1916 - June 26,
2000. Miss you and love you, Neil and Jackie, Shannon and Clayton and
great-grandchildren.

WOOD_ Hugh January 17, 1917-June 23, 2002 Loving Husband, Father, Grandad, Teacher,
Principal. His teaching career and his family were most important in his life. He was a
kind, patient guide in the daily lives of his children and grandchildren. His strength
of character lives on in the good citizens he influenced: his students, his children and
grandchildren. Dad was a kind and generous father who, beyond all else, dedicated his
entire life to his family. He saw few issues as black and white and taught us all to
respect the viewpoints of others and the different perspectives that surround any
subject. He was a pillar of strength and understanding for his family and never
succumbed to anger. He always took time to listen and used his keen sense of humour to
help others deal with the difficulties of life. He was the ideal father and we are so
very fortunate to have called him Dad. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by
all members of his loving family. We love you, Dad, and we will all continue to make you
proud. Hugh was born in Wainright, Alberta. He moved to Kelowna when he was 20. As a
Flying Officer, he served in the Royal Canadian Airforce, attached to the RAF as a
wireless air gunner. He flew missions to Gibraltar, North Africa and the Azores while in
the coastal command. He met and married Kathleen in England where she was serving in the
Womens Royal Naval Service. After the war Hugh attended UBC to obtain a teaching degree.
Hugh was a well known and respected teacher and administrator in Abbotsford for 30
years. Following his retirement, he participated as a member of the board of directors
for Abbotsford Community Services and volunteered his time as an English tutour. Hugh is
