BALL _ Margot J. "Margaret" (nee Clark) On July 27, 2003, aged 74 years, Margot,
surrounded by loved ones, left the family she loved and cherished. Margot was born in
London, England, June, 1929, the only child of the late Nellie Elizabeth and George
Clark. In 1960, she met her late husband Benjamin Walker Ball (President and CEO of
Federal Pioneer Electric Ltd.), in the Canary Islands. They married in 1961, and Margot
and Ben had 2 children who survive them today. Dearly loved son Mark (Frugina) and
dearly loved daughter Sarah Hisey (Brian). Margot felt privileged to be the loving
"Grammy" to Julia Ball and loving "Grandma Margot" to Corinne and Jacqueline Hisey. Her
"three little girls" were the joy of her life. Margot was a member of St. George's
United Church, now Eglinton - St. George's, for more than 41 years. Margot was
passionate about the possibility of the amalgamation of the two congregations. She was
delighted to have lived through the early "growing together" years, and the opening of
the renovated building last November. As a volunteer she held many positions in the
congregation, Presbytery Conference, and National Committees. In December 1982, Margot
became volunteer Toronto Conference Director for "Ventures in Mission" joining the
National Staff as its Fellowship Coordinator in 1984. Later Margot became involved in
the "Mission and Service Fund Interpreters' Program". As well, she loved her volunteer
work in The New Church Development Task Force, something she cared about very much.
Margot's burial was private and has already taken place. A service to remember and
celebrate Margot's life will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003, at 2 PM, in Eglinton
St. George's United Church, 35 Lytton Boulevard, Toronto. A choice of Margot's music
will begin 20 minutes before the service. The service will be followed by a reception
for family to greet friends. Deep appreciation goes to Dr. John Reiger and the Temmy
Latner Palliative Care Team, including Nurse Mary Leishman, Dr. Steve Jenkinson, and
last but definitely not least, Betty Benedictson, Angela Chanda, and Winnifred Pommells.
If desired, memorial gifts would be appreciated to The Mission and Service Fund of The
United Church of Canada, Dept. of Stewardship Services, 3250 Bloor Street West, Toronto,
M8X 2Y4, or Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, 700 University Avenue, 3rd Floor,
