BRESHEARS Sandra Ann (Sandy), passed away at her home in Victoria on October
1, 2003. Born in Vancouver, BC on June 27, 1944, she will be lovingly
remembered by her 2 daughters, Cindy (Steve) and Sherry (John); grandson,
Duncan; 2 sisters, Ina and Kay (Rob); brother, Duncan (Mary) and dear
friends, Anna and Pat (Doug). A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at
a later date. Special thanks from the family to friends, Paddy and Val for
being there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A.

COOKE Lydia May, peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on October 2,
2003. Born in England, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; son,
Sidney in August 2003 and two sisters, Jean and Floss. She is survived by
her son, Don in Nanaimo and brother, Sidney in Nova Scotia. A service of
remembrance will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street
on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 P.M. with a reception to follow in the
chapel. Donations may be made in Lydia's memory to the Victoria Hospice
Society.

HOMUTH Mary Jean Ann (nee Breau) was born September 19, 1943 in Moncton, New
Brunswick. She passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 8,
2003. Mary was a warm, wonderful woman who touched many lives by being
herself. She was married to her best friend Tom, for 41 years. Mary's life
was her family; she was not only a mother but a true best friend,
cheerleader, and always knew when you needed her. She was predeceased by her
parents and her younger brother Mark. She is survived by her husband Tom;
son, Chris (Carol) and their two daughters, Margaret & Laura. She is also
survived by her son, Brian (Carrie) and their two children, Emily and Riley;
daughter, Trena who considered Mary to be her best friend,hero and role
model. She will live in our hears forever. Visitation will be held at MCCALL
BROS., Johnson at Vancouver St., on Saturday, October 11, 2003 from 3:00 -
5:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at MCCALL BROS. FLORAL CHAPEL, on
Sunday, October 12, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Mary's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and
Yukon, 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V2, or Capital Mental Health

MCLAUGHLIN Robert Alexander born December 1, 1913 in Ottawa Ontario, passed
away suddenly, October 2, 2003 in Sooke, B.C., at the age of 89. Robert is
predeceased by his parents, brother, Gordon McLaughlin. Step-daughters
Louise Glynn and Doreen Johansen and step-son, Donavon Glynn. Survived by
step-daughter, Audrey Glynn and step-son Francis Glynn, 18 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren and longtime friends, Bob Cameron, ex-son-in-law and
Golda Nelson. Retired from the lumber mills in Prince George and the
Okanagan nearly thirty years ago, Bob traveled the world. Bob moved to Sooke
four years ago, to be nearer to his family, friends and the great fishing
here. Baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter were two of Bob's
passions, never missing a hockey game at the Sooke Arena. An avid walker,
Bob made daily trips to the Sooke Village, a round trip in excess of six
kilometers. An easily likable and friendly gentleman, he will be missed by
his many friends as well. No service at his request. A private gathering to
celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2003.

MURRAY Grace Evelyn -on Monday, October 6, 2003. Loving mother and
grandmother, will be sadly missed by daughter Margaret, son-in-law Reg Gunn,
grandchildren Susan, Gordon, and Mary and Kornel. Predeceased by her husband
Gordon, and her sisters Queena, Lucy, and Margaret. She also leaves many
cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. Our grateful thanks to all the
wonderful staff on Unit 2 of the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion for the kind and
loving care my mother received over thelast few years. She now joins Dad and
the family whom she deeply missed. Service of remembrancewill be held at
GORDON HEAD UNITED CHURCH, 4201 TyndallAve., on Wednesday October 15th,
2003, at 11:00 AM. Remembrances, if wished, may be madein Grace's memory to
the Parkinson's or Alzheimer's Societies or the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion.

PARKER Edith (nee Lohr) born August 12,1929 at Prospect Lake, passed away
peacefully,on October 4, 2003 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock. She is
survived by her mother Kathleen Lohr,children Gordon (Monica),Richard
(Patsy), Christine Robinson (Scott) and Wendy Jensen (Ken). 10
Grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and brothers Alfred, George, Doug and
David Lohr and sister Muriel Martin and their families. Edith raised her
family of four children, with her husband Lou at the helm, on Irma Street in
Victoria. Her children have fond memories of many celebrations with family
and friends. Her wonderful gardening, cooking and preserving skills turned
the house into a loving home. Edith lived the last four years in White Rock
after surviving a stroke and was able to celebrate life just the way she
wanted. She took many trips and cruises with her wonderful friend Christine,
to places like Las Vegas, Reno, Hawaii, Maui, Panama, Alaska and Disneyland
with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and
friends and we will never forget the happy moments shared here in White
Rock. Thanks for all the help to those who gave it, and especially the
laughter we shared together. Edith did not wish a service, and in lieu of
flowers please donation to the Cancer Society in her name. Her family would
like to invite those who wish join them in the spreading of her ashes,
Sunday, October 12th 2003, at 3 pm at Beechey Head. (Call Wendy if you have

STUCKEY James was taken from us very suddenly on October 5th at his home in
Victoria. He was born February 8th, 1922 in Glenside, Saskatchewan. He
served proudly during the WW2 with the Royal Canadian Air Force where he met
his war bride Olwyn Evans. They married in England in 1945 and moved to
Victoria the following year. He worked as a carpenter, ship wright and
finally as secretary of the trades and labor at HMCS Dockyard before his
retirement in 1985. Predeceased by his brotherLen in 1994, Jim leaves behind
his dear wife Olwyn, children Sandra Harris, Jill Connell (Doug);
grandchildren Paul Harris (Michelle), Kellie Harris (Joe) and his great
grandson Kai James Harris, the apple of his eye. He will also be deeply
missed by his many nieces, nephews, other family members, dear friends and
acquaintances. Jim will always be remembered for his love of family and
life, positive attitude, integrity and his keen sense of humour. You could
always count on Jim for a good laugh! A celebration of his life will take
place on Tuesday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion,
761 Station Road, Langford. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a
charity of your choice.

SHARP Marie Josephine - of Innisfail, AB (formerly of Victoria, BC) passed
away peacefully at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on Wednesday, October 8,
2003 at the age of 81 years. Marie is survived by her loving brother, Father
Joseph Aylingand niece Judy Robertson and family of Grindrod, BC and her
extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's
Church, 2060 Haultain Street, on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 12:10 PM
followed by interment at Royal Oak Burial Park. If friends so desire,

TWEEDIE Gordon Frederick. Dr. Gordon F. Tweedie passed away suddenly on
October 2, 2003 at Victoria, BC. Gordon was born in Edmundston on October
13, 1950. He was a graduate of St. Thomas University, BA, 1972, the
University of Windsor, MA, 1981, and McGill University, PhD, 1992. Gordon
was a beloved father, husband, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly
missed by all who knew him. He was at all times both a student and teacher
of English Literature. Most recently, he taught in the English Department of
the University of Victoria. A poet at heart, his intellect, wit and humor
will live on in his writings and in our memories. He touched all who knew
him with his gentle nature and caring for humankind.Gordon is survived by
his four children, Brendan, Erin, Kate and Daniel Tweedie and their mother,
Susan Mais of Rothesay, NB, parents Edgar and Jean Tweedie of Fredericton,
NB, sister Susan Davis (James) of Black Point, NS and brothers William
Tweedie of Mexico, Ted Tweedie (Annzena) of New Westminster, BC, James
Tweedie (Jennifer) of Toronto, ON and Matthew Tweedie (Leanne) of
Fredericton, NB, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 1:00 pm at the J. A. McAdam Memorial
Chapel, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB. Rev. John Jennings will officiate.
The family would appreciate it if you would make a donation to your local
Food Bank in Gordon's memory orto another charity of your choice.
