The Province notes the following deaths in today's paper GUNN HARDY KNUTSON MacGILLIVARY
PARE WADDINGTON
GUNN _ Janet Louise passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2003, in her 86th year.
Predeceased by husband Dick. She is lovingly remembered by her son Richard, his wife
Pauline, grandchildren Rachael and Nathan, and her many friends and relatives. There
will be no service by request.
HARDY _ Mary Margaret MacKenzie (Farr) passed away peacefully on the morning of October
9th, 2003. She was born on August 31, 1922 to parents Ernest Stanley Farr and Mary
Elizabeth MacKenzie Farr. She was predeceased by her husband Garnet. She will be sadly
missed by her sisters Jessie and Grace; children Wanda, Valerie (Calvin), Garnet Wayne
(Virginia) and Cindy; grandchildren Jessica, Emiko, Kristin, Samantha and Ellery;
extended family and friends. Mary was a longtime teacher with Burnaby School District
(McPherson), active member of the BCTF Retired Teachers' Association and South Burnaby
United Church. A champion of lost souls, both the two-legged and four-legged kind. A
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 18th at 2pm at South Burnaby United
Church, 7591 Gray Avenue, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted by
the Richmond Homeless Cat Society, (604) 271-7729.
KNUTSON _ Lila E. (nee Dredge) of Lake Errock, B.C. passed away September 24, 2003 at
the age of 73. She was predeceased by her mother Sarah and father Frank. She will be
lovingly remembered by her husband Ken of 49 years; mother-in-law Olga Knutson of
Edmonton, Alberta. Her brother Vic (Mary) of Lethbridge, Alberta. Her children Marcia
(Arnold), Kim (Danny) and Keith (Barb). Grandchildren Nicole, Christine (Dave), Jeremy,
Jillian, Jason, and Joel. Great-grandchildren Jordyn, Taylor, Cameron and Elizabeth.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, you will be
sadly missed.
MacGILLIVARY _ Mary Margaret, passed away on September 6, 2003, of Sydney, Nova Scotia.
A memorial tea will be held from 2-4 pm on October 15 at Columbus Towers, 5233 Joyce
St., Burnab
PARE _ Robert Edward (Bob) October 30, 1931 - October 8, 2003. Survived by his loving
wife Jan of Sechelt, his daughter Karyn (Dan), 3 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer &
Amanda, all of North Vancouver, son Douglas of Edmonton. Sisters Marie of Sechelt and
Babe of Port Alberni, sister and brother-in-laws Bev and Harv Emerson of Abbotsford,
cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends too numerous to count. No service by request.
Celebration of his life at a later date.
WADDINGTON _ William (Bill), aged 61 years young, passed away peacefully at home, the
evening of October 5th, 2003, with his family by his bedside. Survived by his wife
Jeannie, mother Viola, daughter Michelle (and husband Steven), brother-in-law Michael
and his children Tom and Tracy, and his beloved dog Casey. The remainder of his family,
across Canada (Ontario), extended family in the United Kingdom, and the community of
Chelsea Green are in mourning as well. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he studied engineering
at the University of Calgary. He met the love of his life in Banff and married shortly
after in Saskatoon. Together, they enjoyed many years in the Okanagan, Victoria and
Vancouver. Bill spent the majority of his years in the media industry, both radio and
newspaper. Other loves included golfing, woodworking, computing, traveling and enjoying
fish & chips in White Rock. Bill will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved
him. Among those are his many friends, business associates and clients. His family would
like to especially thank and recognize the outstanding support of the Langley Home Care
Nursing staff (Elaine & Faye) and his doctor Tom Park. A private service will be held in
Victoria, BC. A celebration of his life will be held at Chelsea Green Clubhouse,
20381-20391 96th Avenue, Langley (Walnut Grove) on Sunday, October 26, between 1:00-4:00
p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the BC Cancer Agency
(Fraser Valley). The funds will be specifically allocated to colorectal cancer research.
Alternatively, you may wish to make a donation to a charity of your choice. HENDERSON'S
