ARMSTRONG _ Donald W. A. Regiment #19601 passed away peacefully at home in Delta on
April 2, 2004 in his 67th year. Don is survived by his beloved wife Janet; son Grant
(Lezlie); daughter Shawn (Marty); loving Grandpa to Jordan, Taylor and Jacob. He is also
survived by brother Larry and sister Irene. A celebration of life will be held at the
North Delta Recreation Centre, 11415 84th Avenue, Delta on Thursday, April 8th at 1:00

]BAINES _ John Leonard Born England September 6, 1920 deceased April 04, 2004 Kelowna,
B.C. Devoted husband and father survived by his loving wife of 61 years and 4 sons, 1
daughter and 12 grandchildren. To all who knew him his life was a testament of
sacrifice. He sacrificed for country during war time, for family and friends and for
those in need. He lived his life helping others whenever possible lending a hand,
comforting those that needed comfort opening his home and his heart. He will be greatly
missed wishing no sorrow for his passing but rather to celebrate his new life a new
beginning with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Memorial service Wednesday, April 7th,

BARTON _ John Edward passed away peacefully on April 1, 2004 at the age of 64 in
Langley, BC. He will be lovingly remembered by his seven sisters and two brothers; his
daughter Teri Wilson of Maple Ridge and his four children in Prince George. Predeceased
by his parents John and Pauline Barton, three sisters and two brothers. No service by

November 26, 1927 _ March 31, 2004 Bill's smile was so genuine that he instantly made a
friend of everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to
know him. When Bill immigrated from England in 1958, he started work at Sears and stayed
with the company until his retirement in 1988. Bill is survived by his loving wife of
fifty-six years Ethel "Robin"; his son Paul; daughter-in-law Dixie; grandchildren Alison

CABOTT _ Walter Alexander born May 9, 1931 passed away quickly and unexpectedly Friday,
April 2nd, 2004 at the Maple Ridge Hospital at the age of 72. Walter was a giant amongst
men, not only in stature but also in his generosity. He was a devoted husband and a
wonderful father. He is survived by his wife Mae and their 5 children Scott, Lesley,
Laura, Bryce and Kyle and his two grandchildren Jake and Terrie-Lynn, his sisters
Bernice Butkovsky and Diana Cabott (Kelowna), numerous nieces and nephews and other
relatives and friends in Canada and abroad. Walter was predeceased by his mother Bernice
Haysak, his father Alex Cabott, his stepfather Michael Haysak, his sister Elizabeth, his
brother Jack and brother in-law Russ. He was a successful general contractor,
specializing in large institutional buildings throughout British Columbia, Alberta and
the Yukon, for over 45 years. Walter was an expert horsemen and extremely well-respected
horse breeder in Western Canada. He bred several champion thoroughbreds for both the
race track and the show-jumping arena. He was the District Commissioner of the Maple
Ridge Pony Club which produced many national and international caliber level riders. All
five of his children participated in horse shows for many years. Walter supported and
was involved in First Nations communities for over 30 years. He was delighted to accept
an honorary adoption from two First Nations in his lifetime: the Kitasoo in 1978, and,
most recently, the Haida Nation in 2000. Walter was an avid fisherman and was looking
forward to spending the summer in his beloved Queen Charlottes fishing with family and
dearest friends on his new boat. He was an extraordinary man, and his contributions to
society were great. He will be deeply missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held
Thursday, April 08, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, at the corner of
Sprice and Schoolhouse, 1504 Sprice Avenue, Coquitlam, B.C. with a reception to follow
at 4:00 p.m. at the Vancouver Golf Club at 771 Austin Avenue.

CLARK _ John Spencer, born August 30, 1915 passed away peacefully in Peace Arch Hospital
on April 3, 2004 with his family present. Lovingly remembered by his wife Elsie,
daughter Sandi (Phill), son Paul (Sheila) and grandchildren Scott, Brian and Alison. He
lived a rich and memorable life and will be missed by his family and friends. The family
would like to gratefully extend their gratitude to the staff of Peace Arch Memorial.

COTE _ Brian Ross passed away March 31, 2004 at home in Delta, BC, age 54 years.
Predeceased by his father Ronald in 1976. Survived by his wife Marty; son Shane;
daughter Michelle; along with his mother Margaret; sisters, Darlene and Jean; brothers,
Ernie and Gary; numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial to take place Thursday,
April 8, 2004 at 12:30 pm at the Vancouver Memorial and Crematorium, 5505 Fraser Street,
Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes
Association in Brian's memory.

CULHAM _ Kermit (Kerm) Russell After celebrating life to its fullest, Kerm left us
unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 31, 2004. Iva and Russell Culham brought Kerm into this
world in 1943 in Cabri, Saskatchewan, A well-respected banker, he thoroughly enjoyed the
people part of his professional career spanning 40 years. Whether at work or home, Kerm
often expressed his famous comeback "That's why I am in management." An avid sportsman
throughout his life, the game of golf captivated him more and more as time progressed
which he shared with close friends and family. Those who knew him will remember his
unbelievable sense of humour, glimmering ear-to-ear smile and optimistic outlook on
life. His greatest passion in life was his dedication to and love for his family, Our
family will carry his positive energy forward to celebrate each and every day as he did,
and then to next generations. His wisdom will be shared by all. He was a wonderful
partner in life, a truly extraordinary father and then later in life an amazing
grandfather. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deborah; son Harry (Sandra);
daughter Dannielle Nichol (Brad), daughter Jessica, and grandson Kyran. He is also
survived by mother Iva and predeceased by father Russell. Kerm leaves behind five
siblings, (Ken, Karen, Lloyd, Lyle and Kathy), many members of this close, extended
family and many dear friends. Please join us in celebration of his life at the Boal

FISHER _ Ruth passed away suddenly on April 3, 2004 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased
by her husband Stanley, she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marc (Kathleen)
and Elisa (Fraser); her grandchildren, Kaitlin, Darren and Sierra as well as her loving
family in Toronto and Montreal. Ruth was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Order of the
Amaranth and the Royal Canadian Legion - Shalom Branch. Her favorite pastimes were her
years spent traveling with the Shrine where she gained the title of "unofficial
photographer" as well as her afternoons of bowling. A memorial service will be held at
Burkeview Family Funeral Care (1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam) on Wednesday, April

FODCHUK _ Hilda May (nee Henderson), born Vancouver, B.C. May 19, 1923. Loving mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbour. Hilda died unexpectedly of heart
failure in Vancouver on March 27, 2004. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Tom. We
were all blessed in having Mom in our lives. She did anything for a friend and a friend
was anyone who needed her. She worked tirelessly for over 32 years at her store, Hilda's
Apparel Ltd. in Richmond, B.C. and her many customers miss her to this day. She devoted
herself to providing a better life for her children and sacrificed much over the years.
We'll miss Mom's infamous baked ham, beans and scalloped potatoes dinner; her
shortbread, brownies and Yorkshire pudding. We fondly remember her getting lost in our
basement, buying Christmas presents all year long, weeding our garden at 7:30 a.m., our
trip to Japan and our many Easter holidays in Saskatoon. She taught us to appreciate
beauty in our surroundings, to be creative, generous and kind. Celebrating Hilda's life
are her devoted children Maureen (Kris), Greg (Mari), her precious grandchildren Karina
and Michael, her loving sisters Phyllis and Jean (Neil), Jim Fodchuk, her sister-in-law
Mary, her life long friends, her many nieces and nephews and all her girlfriends at
Hilda's and Vanity Lingerie. Thank you to everyone who helped make Mom's 80th birthday
so special and creating so many wonderful memories for her last year with us. "Beauty
rare is Hilda's claim, so "Angel" now is her nickname". A celebration of Hilda's life

FORSTER _ Annette (nee Mongeau) Born November 1, 1916, passed away peacefully, April 4,
2004 aged 87. Annette was predeceased by her loving husband Al in 1995 and brother
Fernand also in 1995. Annette will be greatly missed by her sister Lorraine, son Rene
and daughter Lorraine and their families, and many relatives and friends. Annette was
born in Lethbridge Alberta and grew up in Calgary. She attended McGill University in
Montreal and then attended the Holy Cross school of nursing in Calgary where she
graduated as a registered nurse in 1939. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday,
April 7, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, 6610 Balmoral St., Burnaby,
with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children's Hospital or
the SPCA would be greatly appreciated.

FULKERSON _ Jack Edward, born June 14, 1915 in Shoal Lake, MB, recently of Summerland,
BC, passed away March 19, 2004 in La Pas, Mexico. Jack was cruising and reminiscing with
some of his ex POW buddies when he became ill, was taken to a hospital in La Pas, Mexico
and passed away three days later. Jack was educated in Neepawa and Winnipeg where he
apprenticed as a Lithographer. He joined the RCAF/RAF in 1939. His plane was shot down
over Germany in 1941 and he was a POW for the remainder of the war. Jack returned to
Winnipeg after the war and worked there until the early 1950's, then moved to the West
Coast. He was active in Barber Shopping, a Charter Member of Thunderbird Chorus, a
member of the Legion, Royal Air Force Ex Prisoners of War Association, and the National
Prisoner of War Association. Jack also enjoyed golfing, playing the piano, and reading.
His mother, father, brother Murray, and sister Eleanor predeceased Jack. His wife Myrtle
Acton and her three daughters, Deborah (Phil) Bastien, Linda (Bob) Mitchell, and Joanne
(Bob) Halliday, and their families survive him. His first wife Helen Morgan and their
daughter Linda Fulkerson/Roy Daykin also survive him. A celebration of Jack's life will
be held at St. Stephens Anglican Church, Summerland, Reverend Gai Burns officiating, on
Saturday April 10, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Refreshments to follow at the Summerland Legion. In

GERGELY _ Julius passed away March 20, 2004, at age 68. Survived by family and friends.
Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at 9:30am, Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835
East Hastings, Vancouver.

GIBSON _ Francis James David, of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away quietly at the age of 86,
leaving to mourn his beloved wife of 61 years, Florence. He also leaves his sons, Robert
and his wife Nina, of Denmark and Bruce and his wife Sandra, of Richmond; his
grandchildren, Sara and David; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eunice and Vic
Black, as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends. Frank will be greatly missed. His
family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bevan Lodge for their
kindness in this time of our bereavement. At Frank's request, no formal service will be
held, but for those desiring, donations made in his memory to the B.C. Parkinsons
Disease Association would be most appreciated.
GILMOUR _ Mrs. Bernice Eleanor Gilmour, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away peacefully
at MSA Hospital on April 3, 2004 at the age of 76. Her family and friends were with her
at the time of her death. Bernice is reunited with her beloved husband William who
predeceased her in 1993. She will be missed by her children: sons, David and Robert;
daughter Kathy and "adopted daughter" Blanche. She will also be missed by her many
friends. The family wishes to thank the numerous medical personnel that helped Bernice

GRELLAND _ In loving memory of Johan Richard, born in Prince Albert, Sask., April 9,
1937, passed away April 2, 2004 with his beloved wife of 42 years, Christina by his
side. Also survived by his four daughters, Tracy Lynn (Wes), Jamie Lee (Raymond), Lori
Ann (William) and Leah Marie (Kevan); his six grandchildren, John, Amber, Emma, Tessa,
Ebony and Liam; and his three sisters Ruth McCulloch (Burnaby), Joan Purdum (Camano
Island) and Arlene Wardrop (Salmon Arm). Richard leaves many friends who will miss
playing snooker at the Sunrise Pavilion and golfing at his favourite courses, as well as
his longtime companions at Ponderosa Estates. No funeral by request. Flowers gratefully

HALICKI _ Carl Frank (1925 - 2004) of Osoyoos passed away at the Sagebrush Lodge at the
age of 79 years. He will be fondly remembered by his loving family, including devoted
wife Nancy; daughters, Carolyn (Sonny) Smith, Patricia (Rob) Shull and Sandra (Dave)
Branch; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Irene Sleeman; brother Jim
Halicki and mother Annie Halicki. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday

HARRIS _ Roy Lloyd Roy Harris passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2004 in his
93rd year. He had been a resident at Eden Care Home since July, 2002. Roy was born in
Vancouver, B.C. to Andrew and Grace Harris on February 17, 1912. Roy married Margaret
Young in 1938 and they lived and raised their children in Vancouver. Subsequently, Roy's
work took the family to Honeymoon Bay on Vancouver Island, Port Mellon (where he worked
in the Pulp Mill for 17 years), and to Surrey, where he and Margaret operated a Care
Home for Handicapped Adults until their retirement in the mid-70's. Besides his family,
Roy's principal interests were in solving crossword puzzles (a penchant his three
children inherited!), and travelling (he and Margaret enjoyed three cruises).
Travelling, for Roy and Margaret, was not limited to cruise ships and airplane journeys,
but in "going places" in the car and seeing the local sights. Their journeys also took
them to Ontario, Manitoba, and to New Zealand (Wellington and Auckland) in the South
Pacific. Of all his journeys, his last one was the most significant - to Heaven, safe in
the arms of Jesus. Roy was predeceased by his parents, and his sister (Thelma). He is
survived by his loving wife (of over 66 years), Margaret, daughters Diane (John), Donna
(Robert), and son David (Janice). Also surviving are grandchildren Yvonne (Mark),
Veronica (Gary), Ian (Claire), Kelly (Ryan), Danielle (Michael), Catherine (Luc), and
eight great-grandchildren. Grateful thanks are extended to Dr. Quentin Smith, a faithful
friend and advisor, and to the Eden Care Home Staff for all their kindnesses. In lieu of
flowers donations to The Salvation Army, 46420 Brooks Ave., Chilliwack, B.C. would be

HILL _ Barbara Grace (nee Shirley) passed away at Vancouver General Hospital on
Thursday, April 1st, 2004. Predeceased by husband Robin. Survived by sisters Nan (Gib)
Bromley and Mary Dodd.

JERMYN _ G. Norman, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on April 1, 2004. He is
survived by his loving wife Susie, 2 daughters, Kori and Sonya; son-in-law Brian;
grandson Brandon; niece in Jamaica; nephew in Toronto; and special friend Ruth. Norm
will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a kind and caring
gentleman with a generous heart, and always willing to give to those in need. There will
be no service by request and flowers gratefully declined. We would ask that you please
donate to a charity of your choice or to the BC Cancer Agency in Norm's name. Special

on April 5, 2004 in New Westminster. She leaves behind her loving family: daughter

LESPERANCE _ Charlene was born on June 25th, 1950 in Vancouver, B.C. She passed into the
loving arms of the Lord on April 2, 2004. Charlene was an RN for 32 years and loved
being a nurse. Her greatest joy in life came from helping others. Everyone was welcome
in Charlene's home because everyone that came into Charlene's life was more than a
friend; they were family. "True friends are never forgotten. They live within your
heart." Charlene is survived by her loving family: her mother Lily Baker; her husband
Lloyd; her daughters, Cari Roche and her husband Jason, Heidi King and her husband Mark;
her sons, Lee and his wife Amanda, and Robin; her sister Davida Katerberg and husband
Gordon; her neice Elisha Musgrave; her granddaughter Riley, and a host of devoted
friends. A memorial service will be held at Northside Christian Church in Fresno, CA on
Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully requests

LONG _ Fanny of White Rock/Surrey passed away April 3, 2004 at the age of 91.
Predeceased by her husband Samuel in 1983 and her brothers, Robert and Sidney. Fanny is
lovingly remembered by her family: daughters, Martha (Barry), Avery and Anne (Vern)
Ellingsen; two grandchildren, Ryan and Janice; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.

MacKENZIE _ Alexander Karr died peacefully in Lions Gate Hospital Sunday, March 28,
2004, succumbing at last to the ravages of diabetes. Karr was pre-deceased on March 12,
2004 by his wife of over 56 years, Margaret Harrison MacKenzie (nee Allport) and in
earlier years by his sister Jean (Davidson) and brothers Donald, Arthur, Glenn, Leslie,
Russell and Lloyd MacKenzie. He is survived by daughter Norine McCaffrey (David); son
Glenn (Marilou); son Douglas; daughter Heather Christie (Charles); grandson Scott
McCaffrey (Beth), great-granddaughter Caitlin and great-grandson Brendan McCaffrey;
granddaughter Jennifer McCaffrey, great-grandson Nikkie and great-granddaughter Allie
Playle; grandsons Bradley and Kyle Christie; nieces Joan Todd (Ian), Jane Stent (Peter)
and Sharman Edgett (Rob); nephews Colin MacKenzie and Kenneth MacKenzie (Lynda);
MacKenzie sisters-in-law Shirley, Hilda and Vera; on Margaret's side of the family,
sister-in-law Betty Webster (Steve); nephews Barry (Phyllis) and Peter (Sandra) Webster;
and niece Sylvia Fockler (Ed); a large extended family and many friends world wide. Karr
was born March 6, 1921 in Vancouver, the youngest member of eight children born to
Alexander and Eunice MacKenzie. He attended Normal School where he received his teaching
certificate, and after a year of teaching joined the RCAF. He took pilot training and
served briefly overseas in twin-engine Anson bombers before being returned to Abbotsford
where he spent the balance of his wartime service training pilots. He returned to
teaching following the war, and retired as principal of Kerrisdale Elementary School. He
was well known and highly respected as an educator. He fought and overcame both smoking
and alcohol addictions in the space of one year, and became a staunch supporter of AA
for the remainder of his active life. He married Margaret in 1948 and the two of them
spent full lives raising their four children, enjoying their grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, reveling in their Kihei Kai Nani condominium on Maui, the MacKenzie
Cove family property at Centre Bay on Gambier Island, tennis and socializing at the
Arbutus Club and their worldwide travels. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m.,
on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Boal Chapel of First Memorial, 1505 Lillooet Rd.,
North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in his name
would be greatly appreciated.

McINNES _ In memory of Patricia McInnes, born June 2, 1956, passed away April 4, 2004
after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by brother Bob; two sisters, Carol
(Clyde) and Marilyn (Glen); niece Cindy (Richard); nephews, Rob and Richard (Cheryl);
great-nephews and close friends Linda (Fred) and Anne. Long time employee of St. Paul's
Hospital (25 years). The family would like to thank the staff and friends at St. Paul's

NAKASHIMA _ Richard passed away suddenly on April 2, 2004 in Richmond. Predeceased by
his parents Miyuki and Yasumatsu, by brother Robert and sister Margaret. Richard will be
lovingly remembered and sadly missed by brothers Frank, Herb and Gary and sisters
Lillian and Rosalie (Carey). Also sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts,

CORRECTION OWEN _ Douglas Grant, born April 30, 1948, passed away suddenly at home in
Langley on March 30, 2004. Doug is survived by his wife and best friend, Debbie; his
parents, Bill and Pearl Owen of West Vancouver; Debbie's parents, Gordon and Audrey
Stebanuk of Langley; brothers, David and Gary; children, April (Floyd) and Jennifer;
grandchildren, Tori and Jay, and nieces and nephews, Curtis, Charlene and Candace. Doug
was in the equipment business for many years. He had a wide circle of friends and
associates. Doug wished that there be no service. Doug will always be remembered for his

ROBERTS _ Peter Thomas "Pete", born June 7, 1928 in Vancouver, BC, passed away April 2,
2004 in North Vancouver, BC. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy (1993), he will be greatly
missed by his loving daughter Rosemary (Doug, with sons Trevor and Bradley); stepson
Bill (Estelle); grandsons, Shawn and Matthew, and numerous family and friends locally
and around the world. Pete was an avid golfer and a past member of Seymour Golf and
Country Club as well as a respected figure in the treated lumber business for over 40
years. Services will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2004, 10:00am, at First Memorial,
Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to
the Parkinson Society Canada would be appreciated. The family would like to send special
thanks to the staff at Evergreen House and Lions Gate Hospital for their care and
attention to Pete during his stays there. "Out of the rough and into the cup!"

ROBI _ Frances D'arcy, born in Calgary, AB July 16, 1922, passed away at UBC Hospital
March 31, 2004. Memorial Mass at 10:00 am April 16th at St. John the Apostle Catholic
Church, Trafalgar Street.

SHARPE _ Miranda, 1967 _ 2004. Beloved daughter of Keith and Pat Sharpe of Sechelt;
sister of David Sharpe and Christopher (Alison) of Vancouver; and granddaughter of Vin
and Edna Bland (UK). Also will be missed by cousins, aunt and uncle. Miranda passed away
peacefully on April 1, 2004. Her journey with breast cancer was powerful to witness; she
travelled with courage and grace. In her 37 years of life, she wove a wonderful web that
connected people all over the globe. After graduating from Max Cameron High School in
Powell River, she completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature at the
University of British Columbia. Miranda went on to enjoy a successful career at the Rick
Hansen Institute. Miranda embraced life. She loved to travel, snowboard the hills at
Whistler, and play volleyball at Vancouver's beaches. Miranda's family, friends and
colleagues will remember her welcoming smile, sparkling blue eyes and huge heart. Behind
her beautiful face and calming presence was a feisty intellect and a rapier wit.
Miranda's passion was friendship and her life was a testimony to the value, art and
beauty of relationships. Miranda made a difference in this world. She taught all those
who knew her generosity of spirit and the magic in every breath of life. The Sharpe
family would like to graciously thank Miranda's oncologist, Dr. Stephen Chia, the BC
Cancer Agency, and her wonderful friends for their incredible support. In lieu of

STANLEY _ Jessie. Born July 9th, 1910 passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2004.
Predeceased by husband James Norman. Lovingly remembered by 2 daughters Mary and Jenny;
8 grandchildren Eileen (Miguel), Rob (Tanya), Cheryl (Cliff), Pat (Susan), Gerry, Judy
(Steve), Cathy (John) and Joe; 8 great-grandchildren Roberto, Cristofer, Jakob, Colton,
Amy, Megan, Heather and Brice; brother-in-law Walter; nephews Ron and Gary; niece Sharon
and many friends. Service to be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8th at Forest Lawn
Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby.

SUMMERS _ Matthew John (Matt). Born September 26th, 1942 in Liverpool, England passed
away peacefully April 2nd, 2004 after a courageous fight against cancer. He will be
greatly missed by his everloving wife Rita; son John; daughter Claire, partner Dave; and
grandson Brandon, the joy of his life. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Surrey Memorial
Hospital, especially the 5th floor nurses and volunteers. To celebrate his life, a
memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 at Victory Memorial Park

TAYLOR _ Vera passed away March 18, 2004. Vera will be remembered with love by her
stepson Don and his wife Barbara. There will be no service held at her request.

TOMPE _ Charles. Born April 21, 1937, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2004 after a
battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Elly; sons, Robert and Chris;
daughter-in-law Shari, and grandchildren Craig and Paige. Charley lived life with
passion. He enjoyed laughter and friends, boating and brandy. His easy smile and
spontaneous humor will be fondly remembered by those who were blessed to have known him.

TUCKLER _ Andrew. Born in Sventoje, Lithuania on August 8th, 1929, passed away
peacefully at his West Vancouver residence on March 21st, 2004, after several years of
failing health. Andy was very well known in West Vancouver where he had lived since
emigrating to Canada in 1953. He was especially well known in the Marine field, having
worked on the West Coast and Alaska on tugs, fish boats and ferries in the capacity of
Marine Engineer, rising to the position of Chief Engineer before his retirement. Through
all the health challenges Andy faced, he never lost his unique sense of humour and his
memory will forever last in the hearts of his friends. At Andy's request a few of his
friends will scatter his ashes in the waters of Mariner's Rest. Happy Sailing Andy

Van UNEN _ Gerrard "Gerry" passed away in Langley on April 3, 2004 at age of 64 years.
Predeceased by his daughter Rosalie. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda of
31 years; their children, son Darrell (Suzy), daughter Tammy; four grandchildren; many
nieces, nephews and friends. Gerry has run a successful business in the lower mainland
for 40 years and will be remembered as a hard working man who also played hard and made
the most of everyday. He rewarded people's efforts by his generous spirit. A Funeral

VOLRICH _ Daniel Randolph Michael (Danny) passed away peacefully at home in Langley,
B.C. after a lengthy illness in his 56th year. Lovingly remembered by his parents Danny
and Gloria Volrich of North Vancouver; wife Dianne of Langley and two daughters Angelica
Marie with her fiance Glenn Marshall of White Rock, and Ryanne Mangat and her husband
Ken of Penticton, as well as many relatives in B.C. and California. Danny worked 38
years for Safeway stores in North Vancouver and in the Fraser Valley. Danny first served
his community on the Seymour Mountain Ski Patrol and the North Shore Search and Rescue.
Following his move to Langley, he co-founded the Fraser Valley Search and Rescue and
also served as a volunteer with the Langley Fire Department for 20 years. A celebration
of his life is being held at Langley United Church, 5673 200th Street in Langley at 1:00
p.m. on April 8, 2004. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations, if desired may be

WALKER _ Cynthia Zoe, born October 2, 1970 in Brandon, Manitoba, passed away peacefully
on April 3, 2004 at Royal Columbian Hospital due to a long battle with Wegner's Disease.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 10 years, Iain Ghamam; step daughter Brooke
Ghamam; her parents, Lloyd and Georgette Walker; sisters, Kim, Lynn and Verity Walker,
and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cindy was a special woman whose
humour /zest for life touched everyone she met. Those who knew her will remember her as
a real inspiration. We will always admire her ability to make the best out of any
situation, no matter how complicated it may be. Funeral service will be held on
Wednesday, April 7 at 12:00 noon at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765-224th Street,

WYCKHAM _ Margaret Isobel Knox Wyckham passed away peacefully on April 1st, 2004, 3
weeks before her 90th birthday. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Rupert; sons,
Robert (Judy) of West Vancouver and Rev. R. Barry (Kay) Wyckham of Sidney; daughters, M.
Anne Johnston of Toronto and Joan Erickson (Jeff) of Mill Bay; plus 12 grandchildren and
13 great-grandchildren. She has been the matriarch and heart of the family and will be
greatly missed by all. A service of celebration of her life will be held at 12:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, April 7th at St. Christopher's Anglican Church at 11th and Inglewood
Avenue, West Vancouver. Special thanks from "Princess Margaret's" family to the staff at
the West Vancouver Care Centre for their loving care of Princess Margaret and kindness
to her family.

YONGE _ Mary, aged 53, of Campbell River, passed away on Friday, April 2nd, 2004, at
Campbell River & District Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Tony and many siblings,
Mary is survived and will be dearly missed by her sons Cris (Brandi) Stovman and
Nicholas Yonge; grandson Braedyn; her sisters Nadine, Sonia (Karl), Dorie (Bill) and
Natalie; brother John; many nieces, nephews, cousins, Lona, and many other dear friends.
