ANDERSEN _ Anita (Annie) October 15, 1913 - May 21, 2004 "A person is really never gone
Until there is no one left to remember them." John, Shirley, David and Cal York, Art
Marlene Houghton, Denise Allen and family Ken, Colleen Houghton and family, Mary Rodgers
and family, Richard, Tracy York and family, Rory, Katherine Szendrei and family.
CAFFERY _ Herbert, passed away Thursday, May 27th, 2004, at Langley Memorial Hospital,
after a brief illness. Born February 12th, 1926, at Saanich, BC. Predeceased by first
wife Norma; step-daughter Margaret McLean; and step-son Robert McLean. Survived by his
loving wife Pat; nephew Denis (Pam) Hay; step-children Jim (Penny) McLean, Terry (Diane)
McLean, Jean (Dain) Phillips, Treasure (Bob) Essery, Deborah (Frank) Sadowsky and Sandra
(Paul) Willems; and many grandchildren. Veteran of WWII, worked as a Master Mechanic in
lumber camps in BC until retirement. Langley senior of the year for 2000, past president
of Kiwanis Langley Golden K Club, member of Langley Legion Branch 21, volunteer at
Langley Senior Resource Centre for 13 years, Read-To-Me Program at Douglas Park
Community School. Celebration of life at Langley Senior Resource Centre, 20605 51 B
Avenue, Langley, Wednesday, June 2nd, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donation to the
Canadian Cancer Fund, L.S.R.C., or charity of choice. Will be missed by many friends and
neighbours.
CHENG _ Jeff, Kwong-Chee born on January 8, 1949, passed away peacefully on Monday, May
24, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife
(Barbara); son (Erik); family and many dear friends. He was born in Hong Kong, studied
in the United States and joined Hitachi Canada on November 15, 1977, and from then
onwards, has lived in Kelowna, Victoria and back to Vancouver, B.C. During his 26 years
of service with Hitachi, Jeff has had the opportunity to work with and meet many
wonderful people through his life. Jeff was a man of very few words but with a big
caring heart. He loved his family a lot and was there for all his family and friends
when they need him. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 10:00 am, at
Roselawn Funeral Chapel, 1669 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC. A celebration of Jeff's life
will follow at Bodhi Choi Heung Vegetarian Restaurant, 3932 Fraser Street, Vancouver,
BC. A special thanks to Dr. Barbara Melosky, Dr. Philipa Hawkley, Dr. Kathleen
Lymburner, and the staff at the Vancouver BC Cancer Agency, and Tri-City Home Health
Care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Eagle Ridge Hospital Foundation (Tri-City
Home Health Care Account) and the BC Cancer Agency would be greatly appreciated.
CRANE _ Edward "Ed" Michael, November 22nd, 1913 _ May 27, 2004. Died peacefully in his
91st year. Born and raised in Vancouver, he spent most of his working life as a long
shoreman. Predeceased by his wife Anne; and sister Clara. Survived by his daughter Carol
and her husband Frank; grandchildren Jordan and Kathryn; and many nieces and nephews. Ed
was renowned for his tenacity and determination. He passed away after spending the
evening at the Casino, his traditional Thursday night outing. A celebration of his life
will be held Tuesday, June 8th, 2:00 pm, at First Memorial Funeral Services, 602
Kingsway, Vancouver.
EDWARDS _ Marjorie Julia, born June 02, 1916, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Passed away
peacefully May 25, 2004, at home with her family at her bedside. Marjorie was
predeceased by her husband Robert Ramsay in 1994; her sister Lillian Cuell in 2000. She
is survived by her daughter Diane (William) Zuendt of California; her brother Douglas
(Anita) Bailey; sister Dorothy (John) Smith, of Vancouver; and many nieces and nephews.

ELSOFF _ Margaret Ann "Peggy" (nee Reinhold), born March 25, 1945, in Oliver, BC, passed
away on May 27, 2004, at Vancouver General Hospital, after a battle against Leukemia.
Marg grew up in Osoyoos, married and moved to Vancouver where she settled and raised her
family in Delta. In 1996, her granddaughter arrived into the family and she was very
proud to be a grandma. She retired in 2003 from Vancouver Community College and had many
plans to travel in her 5th wheel across Canada. Marg is survived by her husband John;
her two sons Paul (Tracy), granddaughter Samantha and Michael (Samantha); also mourning
her loss are her mom Irene, sister Marion, and brother Gordon and their families;
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends
and everyone who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held at Saviour Lutheran Church,
on May 31, 2004, at 11:00 am. Her ashes will be taken to Osoyoos where she will rest in
peace with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Agency will be
appreciated. Mom, you were a great wife and mother, we will miss you. God bless you.
FENTON _ John "Jack" Merwyn, on Thursday evening May 27th, 2004, age 77, peacefully
passed away at Richmond General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Gregory Samuel and
Muriel (Bobby) Fenton; and his brother Harold (Hal Fenton). Jack will be deeply missed
by his loving wife Helen; and his children Debbie and Brad. He will also be lovingly
remembered by son-in-law John (Hudson); his daughter-in-law Judy (Fenton); adoring
grandchildren David Hudson (and wife Jody) Sarah Hudson, Stephanie and Andrew Fenton;
great-grandson Daniel Hudson; sister-in-law Nancye Fenton; and nieces Kelly and Liz.
Jack was born August 30th, 1926, in Vancouver and was raised in the West End. After Lord
Roberts Elementary, Jack attended King George High School before enlisting in the air
force at age 17. Following his service, Jack honed his business skills at Gordon and
Belyea, then started his advertising and marketing career as a founding partner of JAY
Design Agency (JDA). This company rapidly evolved into Roberts Fenton Advertising,
thereafter becoming a national company as Roberts Fenton McConnel (RFM). Seeking new
challenges, Jack became involved in land development and construction, notably Pine
Crest Estates near Whistler. In 1984, Jack and his son Brad began Wynford Realty Group
Ltd., a property management company to which he remained connected into his final days.
Throughout his life, Jack was a true sportsman with a particular passion for basketball,
badminton, boxing and hockey. His love for sport was passed along to his children and
grandchildren through constant encouragement. He also willingly gave much of his time to
organizations such as the St. Paul's Anglican Boys' Club, Vancouver Chamber of Commerce,
Vancouver Board of Trade, Vancouver Planetarium, Junior Achievement, Federal and
Provincial Political parties. Jack was an exceptionally charitable man, therefore, in
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Richmond
Hospital Foundation in memory of Jack Fenton. All who came to know Jack will miss him
deeply. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1st at Victory
Memorial Park, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC.
MORRISON _ Elizabeth Anne Stewart (Anne) Born December 4, 1941, in Glasgow Scotland,
Anne passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2004 at St. Michael's Centre Hospice in
Burnaby. Anne is survived by her parents William and Mabel Gentles; brother Peter
Gentles of Glasgow Scotland; her close friends Art Pearson and Marianna Calwell; and
many other friends in the BC Lower Mainland. A Memorial Tea will be held at 1:00 pm on
Monday, June 7th, at 728 Farrow Street, Coquitlam. For information, please call Art
