AINSCOUGH _ Ralph Edward passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18, 2004 after a
short stay at Saanich Penninsula Hospital. Born in Victoria in 1927, he lived his life
both here and in Victoria. Ralph will be dearly missed by his beloved family, daughter
Linda (Linn) Ainscough; mother Hester (Hetty) Ainscough; brother Brian Ainscough;
grandson James Trafford; and sister-in-law Enid Roberts. Previously deceased by his wife
Vivian Stella (Pat) Ainscough in 1999. Ralph is also survived by his other daughter
Marian (May) Pierce (Len); his aunts Vi Tams and Doris Mulholland and many cousins,
nieces, nephews and friends. His special presence in our lives will be sorely missed,
but our prayers for his happiness have in fact been answered. His greatest desire was to
"Join Pat" and as he said, "Remember us Godly, 'til we meet again, bye and bye". There
will be a private Memorial Service in Celebration of his Life on Wednesday, September
29, 2004 at 2:00 pm at the Victoria Truth Centre, 1201 Fort St.,Victoria, B.C.
BOYARZIN _ Anne Boyarzin, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, at the Adanac Park
Lodge in Vancouver, B.C., on September 24, 2004, at the age of 93 years. Anne started
her life's journey July 2, 1911 in a small German settlement in Lavesta, AB. She got her
early schooling in that small country school. She left home at a young age to work at
the Ponoka Mental Hospital for a few years. However, Vancouver, B.C. was a strong magnet
and subsequently she spent the rest of her life there. Most of her working years were
spent employed with the Department of Veteran Affairs at the Shaughnessy Hospital. Anne
was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vancouver. Travel was her
greatest enjoyment, especially chasing eclipses, which took her around the world more
than once. Anne was a very quiet, gentle person, and we will miss her dearly. She is
survived by: her two sisters, Helene Boyarzin of Edmonton, AB and Hilda (Ralph)
Pannenbecker of Calgary, AB; as well as many nieces and nephews and all of their
families. She was predeceased by five brothers; two sisters; and her parents. A special
thanks to two dear friends, Shiela and Bob Rogers of Vancouver, B.C.; who were always
there to make Anne's life more enjoyable. Our sincere thanks to the staff at the Adanac
Park Lodge. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on
Friday, October 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Dorn officiating. If family or
friends so desire, a memorial tribute in Anne's name may be made directly to the
Lutheran Laymen's League (270 Laurence Avenue, Kitchener, ON N2M 1Y4). Arrangements

COUCH _ William (Earl), born in Winterburn, Alberta 27 July 1909, passed away in his
96th year on September 23rd, 2004. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean in 1985.
He is survived by his daughters, Geri (Jim) Ingram and Lindy (Bernie) Bannister; six
grandchildren, David Ingram, Jim Ingram Jr. (Teresa), Dana-Jean Ingram, Jeffery
Bannister, Bradly Bannister and Travis Bannister. Remembered fondly by his two
sisters-in-law, Joan Lovett (Art) and Marjorie Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. He
will be missed by his many friends and extended family. No service by request, private
remembrance to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Earl's memory
to the Jean Couch Memorial Bursary at Lake Cowichan Secondary School. FRASER HEIGHTS

GARGETT _ Roy D. passed away quietly September 18, 2004 at Peace Arch Hospital at the
age of 83 years after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by his brother Fred and sister
Betty. He is survived by his loving wife Elsie; son Robert (Stephanie) of California;
daughters Barbara Lee Atamanchuk (Nick) of Qualicum, B.C., Sandra Dash (Ted) of
Parksville, B.C.; stepdaughter Lynne Klassen (Eric) of Coquitlam, B.C.; stepson Gordon
Scott (Maureen) of White Rock, B.C.; sisters Francis Finn (John B.) of Tsawassen, B.C.,
Audrey Smith of Kamloops, B.C., Ardyth Schindell of Kamloops, B.C., Vivian Radliffe of
Surrey, B.C.; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. During
World War II, Roy served in the RCAF. He was V.P. Finance at Triangle Pacific Ltd. Many
thanks to the nurses and staff of Evergreen Baptist Care Home, White Rock and the nurses
of Peace Arch Hospital. Private cremation. Donations to the charity of your choice are

GIBBONS _ David Walter, Q.C. On August 27, 2004, David Walter Gibbons ("Big Dave") died
in Edmonton, Alberta of pulmonary fibrosis after waiting thirteen months for a lung
transplant. David's family is deeply saddened by his loss including his beloved wife,
Janice Dillon, and children David and Lise Gibbons; his brother Richard Gibbons,
sister-in-law Colleen and children Joseph, Erika, Matthew and Britt; his father-in-law
Fred Dillon; his sister-in-law Jo-Anne Dillon, brother-in-law Elwyn Hopkin and children
Alexandra and Claire; and brother-in-law Carl Dillon, sister-in-law Terri Haines and
children Monique, Mirelle, Kyle and Nicolle; and many relatives and friends. His
parents, David Walter Gibbons and Mary Eileen (Long), predeceased him. David was born in
Nelson, B.C. on April 20, 1940. His youth was spent in Burnaby, B.C. where he excelled
at sports. He was a Canadian Pony League baseball champ. While at UBC, he was an
All-Conference All Star linebacker for the Thunderbirds and also played for the
Meraloma. He graduated law at UBC in 1969. His criminal practice took him to most
Canadian provinces, U.S.A., Mexico, India, Europe, South America and Africa. David loved
to be in the courtroom and was a passionate protector of the rights of the accused. He
was a Life Bencher of the Law Society of B.C., Fellow of the American College of Trial
Lawyers, and a founder of Lawyers Rights Watch Canada. He was Greenpeace's first lawyer.
David was a keen patron of contemporary art and honoured to be on the board of the
Western Front Society. He coached minor hockey and baseball. David's generosity and kind
spirit touched many. He was happiest salmon fishing with his family near his summer home
in Tofino. We love you Big Dave. You are forever with us. David's family thanks those
who cared for him at the University of Alberta Hospital especially Dr. Dale Lien and
Jennifer L'Abbe. We appreciate the home care given by all his family, Dierdre Leevers
and Lyle Thurston. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that each of you
register as an organ donor and inform your family of your wishes. A Celebration of
David's life will be held at the Great Hall of the Law Courts, 800 Smithe St. Vancouver

LAPPIN _ Edward Gerald, born December 1, 1930. Gerry passed away peacefully September
18, 2004 at his home in Abbotsford, B.C. He was born 74 years ago in Galt, Ont. to Wilma
and David Lappin. Gerry is survived by sister Sheila (husband Ted) Davey of Oliphant,
Ont. and their children Curtis and Jill as well as brother Roger (wife Joy-Ann) Lappin
of Oshawa, Ont. and their children Kelly-Jo and Jody-Lynn. Mourning Gerry's passing are
his children daughter Debbie Braby and husband Derrick along with their daughters Tara
and Ashley, as well as son David Lappin and wife Sangita, along with their daughters
Hannah and Priya and their mother Betty Lappin. A celebration of Gerry's life was held
at Woodlands Funeral Home (2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, B.C.) September 25th.

MCGOUGAN _ Florence Audrey "Dolly". October 14, 1925 to September 23, 2004. Survived by
her loving family, son, Don and best friend Puppy, and many friends. Predeceased by her
husband Donald, brothers Tom and Bud, mother Tissie and father Tom. Many thanks to the
doctors and staff at St. Michael's Hospice and Burnaby General Hospital. No service by
request, flowers gratefully declined, cremation.
McNEIL _ Janiene Tania, born in Vancouver on April 24th, 1972. Our gorgeous Janiene
passed away suddenly, at only 32, on September 19th, 2004 in Port Coquitlam. She was
predeceased by her father (Jimmy) Kenneth James McNeil and grandparents Lillian and Ken
McNeil. She is survived by her dear mother, Lynn McNeil, beautiful loving daughter,
Janessa McNeil (Sessa), sister Charmaine McNeil, cherished niece Kandis, and Crystal,
Amanda, Jessie, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She will be deeply missed
and in our hearts forever. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity United Church, 2211
Prairie Ave, Port Coquitlam, on Tuesday, September 28th, 2004 at 2:00pm (viewing at
1:00pm)
SIMMS _ Jonathon. Passed away quietly on his 25th birthday, September 24, 2004. Beloved
son of Paul and Debra, survived by his mother, his sisters, Chandra Simms and Katherine
Gauer, and his nephew Isaac. Also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

WILDE _ Florence Jean, late of Surrey, BC, formerly of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away
peacefully September 19, 2004. Florence is survived by her son Don (Sandy); daughter
Susan (Bob) McCutcheon; grandchildren, Laura (Tom) Hunt, Scott (Jennifer) McCutcheon and
Fraser McCutcheon (Chrystal); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Braeden and Bryce; sister L.
"Mac" Kipkie, and many other relatives. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Clinton
and her mother and father Beatrice and Neil MacDonald; brothers, John and Robert and
sister Lillian McCall. Mom enjoyed life to the fullest, times spent with her family and
friends were precious to her. Memorial service will be held Friday, October 1, 2004 at
2:00 pm in the Cloverdale United Church, 17575 - 58A Avenue, Surrey. Burial of

WILSON _ In loving memory of Sandra Wilson, who passed away September 23, 2004. She is
survived by her daughter Laurie Rodriguez; stepsons, Alan (Tracy) and Dean (Penny), as
well as grandchildren, Curtis, Lisa and Cindy. Sandra was predeceased by her husband
Don, in 2001. At Sandra's request, an afternoon tea will take place at 2:00pm on Monday,

ZIRK _ Benjamin Howard (Ben), born April 11, 1921, passed away after a lengthy illness
on September 20, 2004. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather. Ben was born in Sask. and moved to BC in 1948 where he started
working for the CP Railroad. He worked and lived in North Bend for several years before
moving to Vancouver where he worked until he retired in 1985. He served in the Armed
Forces and went overseas. He was a member of the Hope Royal Canadian Legion Branch #228
for 52 years. After retiring Lily and Ben moved to Abbotsford and lived in Alameda Court
where they enjoyed many years. Ben was predeceased by his son, Robert (Margaret), five
brothers and two sisters. Left to mourn, his loving wife of 62 years, Lily; daughter
Sharon Spencer; granddaughters, Danine Hahn, Leanne (Randy) Kozak; grandson James
(Teresa) Kozak and great-grandchildren, Jesseca and Alysia Hahn, William and Aleksandr
Kosak; also sister Marie Fithen; brothers, Walter (Gladys), William (Liz), Herbert
(Darlene), Charles (Faye), and many nieces and nephews. There will be no service by
