BENNETT, Elizabeth Anne Passed away suddenly on December 1st with family at her side. Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan on June 8 1921 Elizabeth traveled the world with her husband Henry (Ben) Bennett, who passed away in 1980. Married in Moose Jaw in 1944 they lived in England, India, and the Middle East until returning to Canada in 1954. Jumping into the workforce in the 50's in Ontario she worked in radio, various police organizations and ended her work career in Victoria, working for the Department of Fisheries. Retirement didn't slow her down much though, she became actively involved with the Victoria Hospice Society, and was an enthusiastic member of the Central Saanich Lawn Bowling Association. She leaves to cherish her memory, many friends and her loving family; daughters Linda (Glenn) Ormseth of Irvine, California, Joanne Buerger of Edmonton, Alberta and son Mark (Myrna) Bennett of Victoria. Grandchildren Sara Klingelberg and Megan Sramek (nee Ormseth) Elizabeth Buerger!
and James Bennett. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, December 7, at First Memorial 4725 Falaise Dr. at 10 am with a reception to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined, but a donation to the Victoria Hospice Society would be greatly appreciated. 18363

GRAINGER, Leonora Emily October 4, 1923 December 3, 2004 Leonora Emily (Nony) Grainger (nee Mannix) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving and devoted three children, who will miss her so very dearly. Nony was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Burton, who passed away in December 2000, whom Nony loved so deeply. Nony is survived by: Her son BRETT and his wife Marilyn; grandchild Angie, her husband Scott and great grandchildren Ashton, Anthony and Jessica; grandchild Amanda and great grandchildren Mekayla and Aaron; Her daughter CATHY and her husband Rod; and grandchildren Hailey, Dean, Jade and Hunter; Her daughter DEANA and her husband Tony; and grandchildren Nicholas, Brendan and Ryan; and numerous other family members and friends. Nony was an extremely devoted wife and mother, who provided her children with all of the love and emotional support that will guide and comfort them every day of their lives. She enjoyed so many wonderful experience!
s in her life, traveling on family trips with her husband and children, socializing and enjoying the company of her many friends who were so very important to her, and spending so many hours simply being with her family and giving to all of them every bit of herself, all of the time. Nony's celebrations on Boxing Day at her home each year with her husband Burt, their children and so very, very many relatives and friends will be remembered and treasured forever by all. Nony will be remembered not only for her grace and dignity, but also for her great zest for life and her wonderful and warm sense of humor, which made her instantly liked by all who came into contact with her. Nony's children received so much love, understanding, friendship, wisdom, affection and devotion from their Mom that it is so very difficult to lose her, but they are comforted by the fact that she will now be with their Dad whom she missed so very much. NAPIER, William Fraser William (Bill) Fraser Napier, of Oak Bay, BC, died December 2, 2004 at Victoria Hospice at the age of 88. Born in Campbellton, N.B., he attended schools in Campbellton as well as Rothesay Collegiate School, Dalhousie University and the University of New Brunswick. Bill transferred to the R.C.A.F. from the North Shore Regiment of New Brunswick in late 1939. He then served in Britain during the early years of WWII as a Spitfire pilot. He completed his war service in Canada flying transport. After the war Bill lived in Halifax and Chester N.S. while working with Wood Gundy Limited for over 35 years. He retired to Victoria in 1985 continuing his involvement with various service organizations and was a life member of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. Bill is survived by his loving wife Pam, daughter Mary Levins (Ken) of Calgary, sons John (Carmella Legato) of Halifax and Michael (Adrienne Thomas) of Dartmouth, grandchildren, Christy MacArthur, Sara Napi!

PENDERGAST, Jessie Ross With sadness the family of Jessie Ross Pendergast announces the death of their mother, grandmother and aunt in Victoria, BC on November 17. At her request there was no funeral. A private memorial was held.She is survived by her sons Duane (Bobbie) Pendergast of Lethbridge, AB, Bruce (Barbara) Pendergast of Victoria BC, her grandchildren, Sean (Christina), Darren, Amy and Adrian Pendergast. Her great granddaughter, Anna Pendergast, was born November 4, 2004. Also surviving her, are her brother, William Erskine of Toronto, ON and his daughters, Kate and Denise, her niece Linda (Barry) Baich and nephew Robert (Eleanor) Brookes of Rocky Mountain House, AB.Jessie was predeceased by her loving husband Russ in 1990, two sisters, Helen Erskine and Rose Brookes, her brother, Robert Erskine and a niece, Lynne Celo. Jessie was born on December 15, 1912 in Calgary, AB, eldest daughter of Samuel and Hannah Erskine. She attended Calgary Normal School and taught at !
several schools in the Prairie Rose and Wild Rose School Divisions. She earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. She taught in Rocky Mountain House before retiring to Nanaimo, BC in 1970. Subsequently, she and Russ moved to Victoria.The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Mount St. Mary's Hospital for their kindness to Jessie during her long illness. 18429

PUDLEINER, Marion Margaret (Fertich). Marion died peacefully at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, B.C. on November 27, 2004 in her 79th year. She leaves behind her loving husband, Sam and six children, Charmaine (Lance), Dan (Kathy), Denise (Mike), Corinne (Rod), Colette (Dave) and Mark Pudleiner (late wife, Shannon). Marion also leaves 11 grandchildren, Genevieve (Jonathon), Zachary, Christopher, Robert, Courtney, Alaina, Rachel, Dillon, Morgan, Steven and Mathieu; and one great-grandchild, Danica. Marion was born in Rockglen, Saskatchewan but moved to Rossland, B.C. while still a young girl. Throughout her lifetime she made many homes in British Columbia and Ontario. Five years ago Marion and Sam finally returned to the West Coast that they loved. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents at the lodge for their compassionate and loving care of Marion. We will forever miss the warmth and love she provided us throughout her lifetime. A funeral celebrating !

ROBBINS, Claudia Elfreda Born to Edith and Robert Jesse in 1917, Victoria,B.C. Passed away peacefully in her daughters' arms at Victoria Hospice on her 87th birthday, December 4th, 2004. Predeceased by her husband, Jack Robbins in 1989, her sister, Phyllis Boak in 1994 and her son-in-law, BarriePearce in 2001. Claudia leaves her devoted and loving family: daughters,Shaaron Pearce of Nelson and Susan Crow (Albert) of Victoria; 4 grandchildren, Charmaine Sabo (Dave), Darren Pearce (Nikkole), Michelle Crowand Heather Crow; 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, friendsand her companion, Clifford Brown. Born into a pioneer family, Claudia wasthe great-granddaughter of Capt. William Henry McNeill (SS Beaver, Hudson'sBay Company). Educated at Girls Central School, Victoria High School andVictoria College, she was a popular, athletic student who went on to becomea legal secretary at Marchant and Tait. She met and married her husband inVictoria in 1944, whereupon they soon !
began their successful businessventures and family life. They owned and operated Hertz Rent A Car, EssoService Stations and Robbins Parking Service until their retirement in the80's. They enjoyed cottage life at Shawnigan Lake, boating in local watersand wintering in Hemet, California. She was a member of Capital City YachtClub, Union Club of Victoria, Uplands Golf Club and Probus. Sincere thanksto her caregivers, especially Cora Constantino, Rosalie Tarlit and ShoneyCabellon for their skillful, compassionate care. Also thanks to her SunriseAssisted Living family, especially Anne Adams, her doctor Ted Rosenberg andthe incredible staff and volunteers at Victoria Hospice, especially MarjorieWoodroffe, Eve Joseph, Connie and Akiko. SHARPE, Norman 1919 2004 Norman passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, at Saanich Peninsula Hospital . He is survived and will be missed by his loving wife and best friend Joyce, of 62 years, brother Arthur, sister June, his son's Bryan, Russell, and Greg, his sister-inlaw Elsie, brother-in-law Bruce, daughter's-inlaw Barb and Dorothy, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with numerous other family members and friends. He will be remembered for his caring and compassionate nature. We will miss his wonderful, mischievous sense of humor, his gift to us all. Norman was born in Yorkshire England, served as a bobby on the Kendal Borough Police Force, flew with the RAF in Southern Rhodesia (South Africa) from 1943-45, moved to Canada in 1947. In 1948, he joined the BC Provincial Police, then served with the RCMP from 1950-75. Upon retiring from the RCMP, he worked for the Provincial Gov't from 1975-81. He was also a Past Master of the Goldstream Masonic Lodge. After!
retiring from public service he devoted his life to his family and decided to write a book about his life called "The Crossings". The family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital for taking good care of our Dad.
