BREW _ Allan Clifford, born October 14, 1939 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. It is with
great sadness we announce the tragic passing of Allan on December 10, 2004. Cherished
husband of Sheila; beloved father to Rich (Wendy), Angie (Jason), and Russ; dear Poppa
to Braxton, Brooklyn, Boston, Julia, Quinten, Caitlyn and Evan. Predeceased by his
father Cliff. Survived also by his mother Bessie; sister Donna (Gerry) and family;
sister Marie (Tom) and family; brother-in-law Lex (Kaija); plus a multitude of business
associates and friends, especially Liz and Doug Bowley and those he fondly called the
swimming group from his competitive swimming days. Al was a deeply respected individual
in the business, sport and animal care worlds. Columbia Machine Works, Richmond
Sockeyes, MacPherson Brown, Chilliwack Chiefs and Richmond Minor Lacrosse all benefited
from his hard work, dedication and integrity as he served as President of all of them.
He was also a major influence with the Richmond Homeless Cats Society and Chilliwack
Animal Safe Haven. He will be sorely missed by Jaz, and running free with Lightning,
Molson, Kega, Princess and LaBatt who loved him unconditionally. A Celebration of
Allan's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Peace Portal

BRUNELLE _ Leona passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the age of 93.
Predeceased by two daughters, Jean and Alice; sister Alphena; and brother Leo. Survived

BUITENHUIS _ Professor Peter Martinus, December 8, 1925 - November 28, 2004. Peter died
quietly at home in the loving presence of his family who read to him and quietly
supported his last days through their love for him and each other. He is deeply mourned
by his wife Ann, and his children Paul (Nancy Harrison), Penelope, Pym (James Lahey);
Beatrix (Ben Chappell), Hugo, their brother Henry Lovejoy; Juliana, Adrian; and his
grandchildren Kate, Jason, Malcolm, Noah and Tara. Also his sister-in law Carol
Stephenson and her mother Marguerite, and many dear friends, especially Lloyd Baron. He
is survived by his siblings in England: Jack (Sheila), Derek (Eivor), Brian (Frances),
and Mary (Michael) and many nieces and nephews. Peter was a Professor of English at
Simon Fraser University when he retired and continued to teach there. He remained an
active scholar and participated in his community, church, Scottish country dancing club,
and his favourite pursuits of sailing and skiing until very recently when his health
failed. The funeral was held on December 1 at St. Monica's Anglican Church in Horseshoe
Bay. A Memorial celebration will be planned at Simon Fraser University in January.

CAMERON _ Robert David Gregory (Greg) suddenly passed away on Wednesday, December 8,
2004 at the age of 46. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Pearl. He will be
dearly missed by his wife Barbara; his children Robert and Meghan; the children's mother
Gloria; his brother Russell; his sisters Beverly (Bob), Ellen (Doug), Carol (Gerry); and
by his many other dear friends and relatives. The family would like to thank all the
staff at Marrwood ECU who looked after Greg over the past 8 years. A service will be
held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 2:00 pm at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 15115

CARLESS _ Nancy Caroline, born 1925, passed away suddenly at home on December 9, 2004.
Predeceased by sister Joan Robertson. Survived and dearly missed by sister Ellen
Chapman; nieces Laurie, Joanie (Rick), Judith (Rick), Barbara and Rebecca; grandniece
Kori (Vrenti); grandnephews Byron, Craig and Brendan and many close friends. A longtime
Burnaby resident, Nancy was a retired teacher, who never stopped learning or sharing her
knowledge. She was just one course away from completing her second university degree. At
age 78, Nancy fulfilled a lifelong dream by sailing down the Mackenzie River, one of
many special trips that she took with family and friends. Nancy was also known as an
avid reader, painter, theatre goer and strong supporter of human rights. No service by
request. In lieu of flowers, donations to local Food Banks would be appreciated. Nancy
was dearly loved by her family, she was our support, inspiration and role model. We will
all miss her deeply and will ensure that her memory and traditions live on.

CASSIDY - William Patrick (Pat) born August 8, 1949 passed away peacefully on December
1, 2004. Survived by his son Steven; aunt Betty Menard; ex-wife Shauna; brothers Tim and
Dan; sisters Colleen and Maureen, and their children. Pat will be missed by his many
friends and work colleagues in Canada and Korea. Many thanks to Dr. Bawa and the
wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Langley Memorial Hospital. At Pat's request,

DAHL _ Kathleen Mary (nee Wilkinson) passed away on December 10, 2004 at Vancouver
General Hospital. She was born in Winnipeg, MB on November 1, 1917. Kay is survived by
her loving husband of 20 years, Lloyd Dahl of Vancouver. Also surviving are her children
Moira Schulte (Merv) of Penticton, Terry McAreavy (Alice) of Comox, Sheila Wyse
(Charlie) of Williams Lake and Kevin McAreavy (Jeanne) of Cumberland. Grandma Kay will
live on in the memory of her grandchildren, Monica Schulte (Art), Claire Anthoine
(Jean-Baptiste), Anne-Marie Wyse, Brendan McAreavy, and Sheena McAreavy as well as her
two great-grandchildren, Clayton Rafuse and Joel Anthoine and dear friend June Wyse. Kay
will be missed by Lloyd's children Sharon Muskeyn (Craig) and Lawrence Dahl (Cheryl) and
Lloyd's grandchildren Michelle, David, and Denni. She was predeceased by her first
husband, Patrick McAreavy, in 1979 and her grandson, Charles Wyse, in 1998. Kay was
predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marie Wilkinson and her brother Graham Wilkinson.
She is survived by her dear sister, Irene Coutts and many nieces and nephews. By her

DEAN _ Margaret (nee Trebilco) passed away December 8, 2004 at the age of 85.
Predeceased by her sister Gwen and brother Bill. Survived and sadly missed by her loving
husband of 64 years, Walt; son Peter; daughter Pat (Dennis) Hayward; 5 grandsons Mathew,
Casey, Christopher, Michael (Jen) and Kerry (Angie); her sister Pearl Herbert; her
sister-in-law Betty Trebilco; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Marg a
life long resident of the North Shore, shared a happy busy life with Walt, her family
and many friends. We are very grateful for the compassionate care of Doctor Craig

DONAGHY _ Doreen Mary passed away peacefully on December 8, 2004 at age 79. She was
predeceased by her husband Norman Donaghy. A full time mother of five, she will be
dearly missed by her daughter Paddy and her four sons, Peter (Karen), Michael
(Lorraine), Kevin (Jenny) and Desmond (Bev) and by her twelve loving grandchildren.

FORSMAN _ Ruby Vellette, late of Surrey, B.C., passed away November 30, 2004, aged 85
years. Ruby was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on November 19, 1919. She was predeceased by
her husband Cliff in 1977 and her oldest son Larry in 2004. She leaves to mourn her
daughters, Marlene and Valerie and her youngest son Allan; also her grandchildren,
Cindy, Dennis, Danny and April, as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and
long-time friends. Ruby was a real sports lover. In her early years, she played women's
ice hockey as well as softball in the 1930's. She has always been a true Canuck fan, as
well as a B.C. Lions football fan. Cindy, her granddaughter and Marlene, her daughter,
were Ruby's primary caregivers during the last years of her life. Cindy, Marlene and
Julie, her adopted granddaughter and friend held a celebration of her life at her
bedside, during her final hours. "She was a real fighter". No formal service will be
held, at Ruby's request. Her cremated remains will be placed in an appropriate place at

JAMES _ Richard Cowan (Rick) died peacefully on December 8, 2004 at the age of 54.
Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Dick. He is survived by his loving family; three
sisters Maureen (Derek) Mullan; Kathy (Mike) Sikich and Peggy-Lou (Shane) Burt; brother
David (Julie) and 14 nieces and nephews. Rick is also survived by his very special
friends, Yvonne, Larry, Reynaldo, Pedro and George. The family is deeply grateful to

LANGE _ Ralph Wayne, passed away tragically at home on Saturday, December 4, 2004. Born
in Hamilton, Ontario on December 10, 1941. Survived by his loving sons Steven and Tyler
of North Vancouver. He is survived by his siblings from Calgary, Brian (Lynda), Norman
(Teresa), Doris, Gail Ingelson (Arnold). He will be missed by Virginia Lange and
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ralph is predeceased by his parents Bill and
Evelyn Lange. Ralph's interesting and intellectual conversations inspired and touched
everyone he came into contact with. His varied interests included family activities,
aeronautics, travel, art and music. He was enthusiastic about spans like skiing, golf
and tennis with a passion for remote control hobbies and cards. A celebration of Ralph's
life will be held on Thursday, December 16th at 2:00pm at First Memorial Funeral Home,
1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the

LeBLANC _ Kathleen "Kaye" Agnes, (nee Bayes). Born July 31, 1918, died peacefully
December 11, 2004 after a brief illness. Kaye will be sadly missed by her 2 sons, Roger
(Rosalind), Patrick (Penny); her 2 grandchildren James and Vanessa; sisters Hazel and
Mildred; sister-in-law Jenny, and a great many friends. She is predeceased by her son
Sandy; brothers Cal, Larry, Bob and Harvey. Kaye led a full and active life. She worked
at the Hotel Vancouver for 21 years, managed the food concession at English Bay for 12
years, has been an active volunteer at the 411 Seniors Centre since her retirement in
1983, and was recognized by Prime Minister Kim Campbell in 1992 for her years of work
with home-bound seniors. She served in the CWAC in 1940, belonged to the Vancouver
Pioneers, and was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2075. A memorial
service will be held at 10am, Thursday December 16th at FOE #2075, 7 West 7th Ave,
Vancouver. Donations to Muscular Dystrophy appreciated in lieu of flowers.

LEE _ Marian died peacefully on 10th December 2004 aged 92 years. She will be greatly
missed by her daughters Jennifer Monk and Vivien Roberts (Alan) and by her six
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marian was pre-deceased by her beloved and
loving husband Bob in 1984 and by three brothers and three sisters. Born in Liverpool,
England on 9th December 1912, Marian was a woman of great character. She exemplified all
aspects of beauty and dignity and was of great inner strength. Guileless herself, she
looked out with more than just her beautiful eyes and was fool to nothing and nobody.

Dunbar on Wednesday 15th December at 11:00 a.m.

NELSON _ August 4, 1909 - December 8, 2004 Mary Margaret Nelson passed away peacefully
on December 8, 2004. Predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur, in June of 1995 and her
grandson Barry, in June of 1990. Margaret leaves to mourn her children, Joyce (Roy)
Richards of Jasper, AB, Beverley (Barry) Lister of Kamloops BC, Maxine MacKenzie of
Calgary, AB and Kenneth (Shirley) Nelson of Coquitlam, BC. Her half sister Idel Durrat.
She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. S.K.

O'HARA _ Charles Henderson 1912 - 2004. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in Vancouver on December 7, 2004. Charlie will
be missed and fondly remembered by Lillian, his wife of 63 years and their children
Sandra (Richard) Ryder, Charles Hayden O'Hara, and Joan (Fred) Inglis. Charlie, one of
four sons of Gertrude and Charles O'Hara, was born in London, Ontario where he married
Lillian and began his career with Canada Trust. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in
1941, landed at Juno Beach on D-Day and earned the rank of Major by the end of WW II.
Charlie and family were transferred to Vancouver in 1956, a city Charlie grew to love.
Gardening and golfing were Charlie's passions. He and Lillian spent much of their
retirement years golfing and vacationing in Hawaii. Charlie was very active in Canadian
Memorial Church, served on the Board of Governors at UBC's Union College, and was a life
member of the Vancouver Club and the Estate Planning Council. In 1975, Charlie retired
as Assistant-Vice President of the Canada Trust, after 45 years of service. He was quite
an athlete and excelled in many sports. Charlie was known for his competitive spirit,
honesty, generosity and his gratitude to the Lord for his long and happy life. Grandpa
will also be missed by Laura (Dave) Hudson, Karen (Ron) Pultr, Adam (Kelly) Inglis, Eric
(Lisa) Inglis, Angela Inglis, Jackie O'Hara, Marina O'Hara and his great-grandchildren
Lisa, Jeff, Michelle, Ellery, Cohen, Shamus, Jackson and Kate. In lieu of flowers,

RAMOS _ Jose Batista. Loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and
friend. For a short 55 years, Joe graced this world with his generosity, his kindness
and his unconditional love for family and friends. After a 1 year battle with cancer,
Joe was taken from us on December 12, 2004. Joe lives now in the hearts of his loving
parents Helena and Augusto, siblings, Isaura (Fred), Peter (Sabrina), Maria (Terry),

ROWSE _ Grace Blanch passed away peacefully on December 8, 2004 at Surrey Memorial
Hospital. Born in Ashcroft on December 19, 1925, Grace was predeceased by her sister,
Katherine in 1990. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Bill) Sharkey; two brothers,
Manny (Elaine) and Howard (Dorothy) and 13 nieces and nephews. Grace's career was with
CNCP Telecommunications until she retired in 1985. She especially enjoyed badminton and
played competitively in her youth, and was a former member of the Rebecca Lodge. A

CAPTAIN MILES SELBY Captain Darren Miles "Milhouse" Selby died tragically on Friday,
December 10, 2004 while training for his new solo position with the Canadian Forces
Snowbirds. Miles was born July 24, 1973 in New Westminster, British Columbia. Miles
resided in Tsawwassen, British Columbia where he received his education and later became
a member of 828 (Hurricane) Royal Canadian Air Cadets Squadron. His passion for aviation
led Miles to join the Canadian Armed Forces following high school graduation and
attended Royal Roads Military College where he achieved a Bachelor of Science degree. He
was then trained to wings standard as a pilot in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. His
outstanding training performance led him to being trained as a tactical fighter pilot on
the CF-18 Hornet. While posted to 416 (Lynx) and subsequently 441 (Silver Fox) Tactical
Fighter Squadrons, he served with the Canadian detachment at Aviano, Italy flying combat
and close air support missions into the Balkans. During this time he met the love of his
life, Julie Anderson, whom he married in April, 2002. His application and tryouts with
431 Air Demonstration Squadron (Snowbirds) led to his being accepted as Snowbird 4 for
the 2004 air demonstration season. Miles died doing what he loved most, while training
with the Snowbirds for the 2005 season. Miles had a lifelong interest in sport fishing
and scuba diving which he enjoyed doing with his family and especially his adoring wife,
Julie. Miles is survived by Julie, parents, Roland and Kristin, grandparents, Georgette
and Don Kyle, and his in-laws, John, Barbara and Scott Anderson. Funeral Services will
be held at Hanger # 4, 15 Wing Moose Jaw on Wednesday December 15th, 2004 at 1:00pm.

SNYDER _ E. Clare passed into the presence of his Lord on December 12, 2004 at the age
of 91 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Esther; son-in-law Jim and three

ST. HILAIRE _ Edmond of Surrey, BC lost his battle with cancer on December 10th, 2004 at
the age of 69. Survived by his loving wife Barbara; his sons, Don (Barbara), Bill

STARK- Lloyd Wesley, born June 19, 1921 in Alberta, passed away December 9, 2004 at the
Royal Columbian Hospital. He will be missed by his wife Vera; daughters Joanne, Norma
(Marvin), Edie (Doug) and 4 granddaughters as well as relatives and friends who loved
him. Lloyd enjoyed 55 years of marriage to his loving wife Vera. The two spent many
winters in Mexico where Lloyd will also be missed. Lloyd's great sense of humour and
positive outlook on life have been an inspiration to all those who lives he touched. No

STUTCHBURY _ Doris Evelyn, born October 19, 1915 in England, passed away peacefully at
age 89 years in Coquitlam. Doris was predeceased by her parents and her sisters,
Kathleen and Betty. She is survived by her sister, Audrey and Audrey's family. Doris
served with the British Army Medical Corp during World War II. After the war she moved
to Canada where she worked as a practical nurse until her retirement. The family would
like to thank the staff at Dufferin Care Centre. Interment services will be held at
1:00pm on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at Robinson Memorial Park in Coquitlam.

WALKEM _ William (Bill) Hugh. Born December 25, 1913, passed away peacefully on December
10, 2004. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Christina Edith Helen Zust;
daughter Jan (Gordon) Prince; grandchildren, Gordon Hugh, Charlie, Chelsea and Haley,
his companion Dolly Barber, and numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Bill worked as
a commercial fisherman and miner during WWII. He was a long time employee of the CN
Railway and retired in the 1970's. He also worked for several years in the logging
industry. He was also active in the early years of the National Indian Brotherhood where
he pushed hard for recognition of aboriginal rights. A devoted father, grandfather,
uncle, and friend his warm smile and stories will be dearly missed. Funeral services
will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Chief Whistemnitsa Centre,

WHITE _ Joyce Irene. May 11, 1932 - December 11, 2004. Joy White (nee MacNeil) passed
away peacefully at Bethany Care Centre, Calgary on December 11th, 2004 after a long
illness with Alzheimer's Disease. Survived by her husband Arnold; daughter Shari
(Dwayne) Hodges and granddaughter Victoria Mae, all of Fresno, California; her daughters
in love Karna James and Alanna Walker; sister Kay Monk; brothers Bill (Jessie) MacNeil
and Gordon MacNeil; sisters-in-law Gerry Lewis, Dana (Floyd) Drew, and Ruth White; and
